I think that this is really good.  But nothing to do within this Forum.  Do you think that we have all been siting on our backsides allowing this sort of nasty stuff to be posted up?   And believe me, they do try.

You must think that we all came up The Clyde on a water biscuit.

Fortunately its up to the met...and I will respect their decision. In my view not taking action will open the floodgates...online bullying and abuse  is a big problem and will get worse if nothing is done about it. I speak as  a victim of online abuse.

Can you substantiate that last statement ?

From Amazon:

'A threat to kill Dr Goncalo Amaral by McCann supporters:-

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/By8A-YUCYAErL12.png:large

1. Will this be investigated by the MPS and reported to the CPS for possible criminal action against the internet trolls who made said threats?

2. Will any McCannite cult member/supporter on this forum unequivocally condemn these threats made against Dr Amaral and, if they know the identities of the perpetrators, will they pass that information to the MPS without delay?

Just for the record, and without any equivocation whatsoever, I unreservedly condemn ANYONE who makes any threats of whatever sort against another person, whether the threat is made face to face, or through any form of electronic or paper media. '

Well done for finding something, but the two sets of "threats" do not compare Stephen.

The one set you have just raised is more like banter.  Banter that shouldn't have been said admittedly.  What The Mccanns have to endure is an altogether different ball game ... even inticement for others to join in the torture bullying, death threats.

And two little nine year olds included in the threats.

The messages were among those posted by internet trolls who wrongly believe that Kate and Gerry, both 46, had some involvement in the disappearance of their three-year-old daughter Madeleine in Portugal in 2007.

The couple, who were cleared by police from any part in their daughter's disappearance, have been told by trolls to 'burn in hell'.

Interesting.

Firstly,

How do they (the authors) know that belief is wrong, unless of course they can prove otherwise (my thanks to admin)

& secondly,

When were the McCanns cleared by police?

What were they charged with?

The correct answers are..

1) They don't.

2) They haven't been.

& 3) Nothing.

Maybe admin could fill me in on wether the Mail is lying or just being disingenuous about point 2.

Abuse is one thing but stalking and threats of violence are an entirely different matter.  Some on the blue forum should take note.
Some young people have committed suicide due to online abuse...if children are aware that parents are doing it they will view it as acceptable

Yes, a good point WS.  In order to clear the parents the mystery of what became of the child has to be solved and unless Scotland Yard are keeping this information from the public this is not the case...it has not been solved or anywhere near it by all accounts.

The investigation into what happened to Madeleine has not progressed in seven years and unless there is a major breakthrough it is very likely to remain an enduring mystery possibly for ever.

I haven't yet managed to read all the MSM reports yet but are they publishing the same script?

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

This story is being used by supporters as a means of stifling debate about the case. We have seen posters here conflating the reprehensible activities of some internet posters (strangely though only those in the sceptic camp) with any questioning attitude or beliefs which differ from the story. It seems the thought police are alive and well 30 years late.

All repeating the details of the same Sky report, it would seem, which was handed to them by concerned McCann supporters.

Is hunting trolls likely to help find Madeleine ?

This helps SY how exactly?

They now have to waste valuable time & money on messing around investigating old wumming grannies, whilst poor little Maddie is out there alive & well & just waiting for Tito & Muzzy to rescue her.

Online abuse is vile and I deplore the antics of some cretins who threaten or abuse other people.

I don't trust the McCanns and despise their behavior in their involvement of their daughters demise and their denial of it. I.E leaving their babies alone night after night and then claim to be a happy loving 'family'. However, I Do not wish them harm, discussed and properly investigated yes! but not harmed.

Just for the record..

..'he deserves to be miserable and feel FEAR' <  abuse!!
F*****king T****ers...
F*****king T****ers... abuse!!

I love the fact  that it is only the 'supporters' who 'name call' on this forum < abuse
I also like the denial of some who claim 'banter' is ok even though it is abuse!

Martin Brunt might not be the right person to report on this issue.
Wasn't he the person who set these people off by wrongly reporting about 100% proof of Madeleine's DNA found in the rented car?
And then this information went on internet and was published in all major papers in the world.
Not everyone is reading papers all the time. There are people who don't care about Madeleine at all but had long time read the report that Madeleine was hidden in her parent's rented car.. this made their opinion and once the opinion is made it is really hard to overturn it.

Regarding the abusers.. there are people who are obsessed with the McCanns.. I have a feeling they don't think about anything else but the McCanns. Maybe this is a mental illness,  maybe this is their way of escaping the reality.Their brain just compares everything with the McCanns every little story that is mentioned on the news or in the media.

I followed Madeleine story from the day one. I was there when the hate campaign started, it was on the Mirror forum. Anyone remembers this?

There are people in the world who have no offline friends, who have lousy lives and are not respected or recognised in their own communities. In anti McCann campaign they found their own importance, they formed friendships with the people who think the same.. outside this group they know they are nobodies.
