That is one. Faith and her pal Alice, know they are on my ignore list.
It is for people on these sites to decide for themselves where she went wrong or some might  even think that she did not. Either way it probably resulted in her death
There are as you suggest several lessons to be learned from this sad affair but it strikes me that many people are not interested in learning any of them, which is depressing in itself.

What do you think is worse Anna?

Parents leaving their children alone every night- one dissapears, maybe raped, tortured, murdered/

A Police officer writing a book on events

A woman who challenges the parents behaviour- who have become celebrities and rich beyond their  wildest dreams on the back of their daughter demise?

I think the worst thing is your slanted description of these three events...the sort of encouragement to make people feel it's right to harass the McCanns...the type of behaviour that has led to Brendas early sad death

Who sees them as being celebrities I certainly do not and when did they become rich beyond their wildest dreams is there any evidence of this ?

Well...

They didn't.

But I think the comment (or the part of it I quote) speaks volumes ...

My sentiments entirely.
The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

You are saying these are fake, now PROVE IT.

Stephen - a couple of pages ago you made mention of "gloating" by posters on this forum.  I have asked you very politely a few times to provide examples.

I can only conclude that you are unable to do so.  So maybe withdraw the comment and apologise?

telling a poster to PROVE IT makes you look rather like a petulant and rather ill mannered child, and a bit rich given your failure to back up your comments.  But par for the course.

David Aaronovitch made some very pertinent observations in a Times article ... unfortunately it appears that there remains a hard core who see only opportunity for further abuse in Ms Leyland's death ... and not a time for reflection and real concern for her family.

"I am pretty sure that if the Sky News crime reporter Martin Brunt had his time over again he would decide not to doorstep an unknown and unknowable minor social miscreant like Brenda. In a very soft and calm voice she told him that she thought she was entitled to make the comments she had, and then she went off and committed suicide.
Who knew? And Brunt will be very upset. But now, of course, the critics came for him. A Facebook page was set up arguing that he should be fired. And a little voice whispered inside my head: “And what if he kills himself?” Will we go after the anti-Brunt Facebookers?"

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

In bold seriously? what I said was worse than Maddie being raped, torured, murdered? ok says more about you than me.

I am not harassing anyone, I am stating facts here, does it annoy you?  please click ignore button.
I have never wished harm to the mccans  or wrongly accused them of anything....

Celebrities; no one knew of them or cared about them before this happened- they set up a fund and enjoyed a millionaires lifestyle-travelling the world - NOT searching for their daughter, oh no- The Oprah  show among other things...

That luverly chunk of money in the 'fund' being used to... search for Maddie. (?)

I'm sure Martin Brunt is very upset.

I've often wondered how some people would react if Kate had been driven over the edge ...

A lot of decent people will be shocked and dismayed about what has happened.

If Kate had been pushed over the edge people would be shocked,(yes, some idiots would jeer)  since her daughter is missing it would be very natural for her to be in shock and depression at her situation.

quote "unknowable minor social miscreant like Brenda." Well, this was from a 'respectable' journalist!
