The evidence reveals that self preservation was a high priority within the group.  Their failed attempts to persuade detectives of their checking regime were very noticeable.

What is it about this alleged note that makes you think woke and wandered is more likely than abduction?

Unless as happens in many cases, a good Samaritan changes his mind when reality and the consequences of his actions begin to dawn on him.  He wouldn't have known where this kid came from so what to do?  Take her to hospital which was miles away and risk being done for it??

By taking her away he creates more problems - disposal of body. Better to leave her & do  a runner.

I have always had sympathy with the woke and wandered theory for many reasons some of which are mentioned in the intro.

Remember too, had a local ran her over and lifted her in an attempt to seek out medical attention there was every likelihood that that he would hear that an abductor was being sought.  Would he really have wanted to be tarred with that particular brush?

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.

I didn't say the abduction was staged. I said that by blaming an abduction they were getting themselves off the hook.
What hook would that be?  They admitted they left their kids alone so...?

Who opened the bedroom windows then?

Not likely to happen if he was taking  her to a hospital, as that would have happened before any alarm was raised.

No independent witnesses to the windows being open, not even their friends who passed by them in a regular stream the hour before.

Yes, but only in the context of the existence of an abductor.
If she had been found dead in the middle of the road, for example, they would have been much more likely to have faced neglect charges.

Window!  Whose fingerprint was found?

Who was first at the scene?
Who howled 'ABDUCTION'?

The evidence for wandered out is very strong.  The very first place Gerry and Matt searched was to the crèche and the kids club.  Curiously, I don't think you would find an abductor or an abducted child there!

Add in the failure to initially contact police and you can immediately see that they were looking for an escaped child and were hoping for a good outcome WITHOUT INVOLVING POLICE!

The GNR sniffer dogs sudden trail ending in the residents car park is I agree very strong evidence of a sudden removal from the location by probably being loaded into a car.

Something else I have just realised is that the opening of the patio door would have caused a draught sufficient to close the front door and Kate McCann being outside would have been none the wiser.

John, please be sensible.  I'm really rather disappointed in you.  What you are suggesting is ludicrous.  You seem to be suggesting that Gerry and Matt should not have been searching anywhere, because Kate felt straight away that it was an abduction.  Is this what you are saying?  Do you actually think they were being unreasonable in hoping for a good outcome without involving police?
