I've never totally discounted that possibility. However, I find it very unlikely. If she'd been a bit older, e.g. 5-6, then I would have found that more credible.

Why Carana, she was a precocious child by all accounts and singularly very determined?  She had easy access to the window by climbing onto the bed.  She had been wakening and crying since the Tuesday night so by Thursday she had probably had enough.

Could not was, which is what I said. I am sure you understand the difference.
The Grauniad report is 25th April 2012. DCI Redwood kind of altered that timeline when he greased "Tannerman The Abductor" in October(?) 2013 and made some comment about our thinking is Madeleine may not have left the apartment alive.
So the question remains what do The Yard think now not what did they reportedly think in 2012 according to some posters. Unless of course you believe the investigation remains mired in 2012.

The shutters were raised or lowered by a CDA inside the room. Do you have evidence the child could not operate the CDA?

Do you have evidence that she did?

For example ... fingerprints or bare footprints on the window ledge? fingerprints on the window?

I suppose it is a step forward that you do accept that the window was open and the shutter raised.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Was Madeleine McCann Run Over By Accident And Then Carried Off?

This sounds like a perfectly acceptable question to me.

I shall be deleting Off Topic Posts shortly.

Kate said the window was opened when previously it had been shut - did you not know this?  Who opened the window in your view?

Precocious, yes, but she was still not quite 4 years old.

A little girl, exhausted by all the fun activities, not just on the day, but during the whole week. Apparently sound asleep when the parents left.

If they had left her during the day, while she was still full of energy, then I wouldn't have excluded tugging on the shutter strap to play Tarzan or anything else that I might have done at her age. If I had done that, the first consequence would have been that I'd have jammed the strap.

Setting that aside...

I have never come across a 3-4-year-old who would willingly climb out of a dark window late at night. Nor can I think of one who would close heavy verandah sliding doors, plus gates behind her. Nor one who would think to put on sandals, or leave without Cuddle-Cat.

A precocious / enterprising 5-7 year-old might have done, but she was an exhausted 3-year-old, going on 4.

All of those things are possible though highly unlikely IMO.  If it happened then it is also possible that Madeleine was picked up by a passing stranger and it's also possible she was run over and removed from the scene of the accident. But these scenarios aseem much more implausible to me than someone entering the apartment and removing her. That is the simple, most plausible explanation IMO.

She looked out the window but walked out the front door if that's what took place.

You obviously arent familiar with precocious four year olds to make that comment.

Why is it McCann apologists always claim abduction to the exclusion of every other possibility?

Because that's what the McCanns themselves  claim ?

No because that's where the evidence points to....making it the most probable reason for Maddie's disappearance

Did you actually READ my post?  I made it clear that I thought woke and wandered was possible, though highly unlikely.

I have had 2 children both of whom successfully made it to their 4th birthdays, I am of the opinion that not every 4 year old child behaves in the same way, and that parents are usually the best judges of what their children are capable of, not complete strangers.

Please do not call me an apologist.  8((()*/

Oh dear seemingly I have done what I accused you of earlier. Ooops , poor syntax.
It should have read "The means for raising the shutters was a CDA inside the room".
