It's a source of great fascination to me that people who as recently as October 2014 were absolutely up in arms about the doorstepping of Brenda Leyland by Martin Brunt are now fully supportive of a woman who claims that doorstepping is a perfectly valid means of getting a story.  Can anyone explain this volte-face?

It seems SP requested an interview in writing many times over many months therefore when she turned up on the McCann's doorstep it can't have been a complete surprise.

BL had no idea she was going to be accosted in the street and the resulting footage shown every quarter of an hour on Sky News. It would appear she was also told she was being investigated by SY, a complete distortion of the truth.

You cannot be serious.  BL courted Martin Brunt.  She tweeted at him regularly.  She wanted his attention.  Therefore it is she who should not have been surprised when he did turn his attention to her.  The McCanns, by not responding to Pointy Poulton made it very clear they did NOT want to talk to her but she went ahead anyway, turned up on their doorstep and tried to force Kate into an interview situation.  You seriously think Kate should have been expecting that?!  What about all the other people Poulton has doorstepped for this interview.  You think Dr Gaspar should have been expecting it too?  Sonia may not have access to Sky rolling news but she will certainly be intending to get as wide a circulation for her video as possible so don't try and excuse her on that score either.

But none of this is in anyway relevant to the fact that Poulton decried the tactic of doorstepping Brenda and positively championed it when applied to the McCanns.  This is blatant hypocrisy and double-standards of the highest order.   

BTW, call me a fool al you like if it makes you feel better about yourself, I'd rather be called that than a  hypocrite any day.

How you distort things to suit your agenda. What I know is that Martin Brunt began following BL on twitter first, probably to set her up and gain her confidence.

She has a right to ask for one, and arguably even a right to thrust her microphone and pointy finger in Kate McCann's face, but how does she square this with her strident disapproval of Martin Brunt doing the same to Brenda (minus the shrill, pointy finger thing of course).?
