Question is - will there be a happy ending for anyone , or ultimately just misery all round?

My thoughts are mainly, with the girl, jassi. It is not going to be an easy transition for her.
We can only hope that the resultant, negative, consequences, are few and that the best possible outcome is achieved, for her and her family.

The woman who abducted the baby obviously had mental health issues at the time.  She did wrong most certainly but there will be mitigating circumstances.  The baby was not harmed and has grown up to be a well educated and rounded young woman by all accounts.  Let's face it, it could have been much worse.

Indeed, but who will she regard as her family - those she grew up with  for 17 years  or some strangers she has just met ?

If I was in that position, I'd want to stay with which ever family had the biggest house & the most money.

Very difficult situation. If we knew the reason for her abduction, it may all be easier to understand, why it occurred in the first place.
1. Was it just a selfish want for a baby............Like..Now
2. Mental heath issues, as suggested by John
3. Had just lost a baby......again, mental health issues
4. Was refused a child by legal adoption.

How:-
1. Did nobody know it was not her child?
2. Did she conceal a miscarriage?
3. Did she stage a pregnancy with the intention of stealing a child?
4. Did her husband go along with this?
5. Why did she choose a hospital to take the baby from?
6. Did she know that this mother was pregnant and followed her progress to enable the staging to fit in?
7. Did she get a birth certificate?

Its all very confusing right now.

As I said the other day, "Funny old world!"

Woman whose baby was stolen at birth thanks the woman who took her!

Oliver Wheaton for Metro

Published 5 March 2015

Delight: Morne' and Celeste Nurse can barely believe the remarkable twist of fate which meant their daughter was
returned to them almost 18 years after she was snatched from a hospital room in Cape Town.

A mother who newborn daughter was snatched from her arms has done the unthinkable and thanked the woman who stole her.

After being reunited with Zephany 17 years after she went missing, Celeste Nurse and her husband Morne were reunited with their daughter.

The Nurse family’s other daughter noticed an older girl at her school who looked similar to her, and it turned out this was in fact their missing child.

While a 50-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with kidnapping, Celeste now says she has forgiven the terrible crime, because she gave her stolen child ‘a good life’.

She told MailOnline: ‘Zephany loves this woman dearly, she was a good mother to her.

‘Undoubtedly we will meet, and I will thank her for taking care of my daughter. Zephany has had a good life with her – my daughter is beautiful, inside and out, she’s kind and clever – they did a great job.’

The Nurse family, from Cape Town in South Africa, have now been reunited with Zephany, however they never gave up hope that they would one day find their daughter.

Celeste said she ‘always had this feeling that Zephany was very close by’ and has now even written a letter to the McCann family urging them not to give up hope in the search for Maddie.

Zephany, who has been dubbed the ‘South African Madeleine McCann’, has now met with her biological family three times while being cared for by social services, however she has already started calling her parents ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’.

Well, Well!  Who would have believed it?
She is a very lucky girl to have not one, but two sets of parents to love.
She has real parents with a strong sense of compassion, love and forgiveness, so hopefully a happy ending after all  ?{)(**

Indeed Anna but let's not forget it is a lot easier to hide a baby than a nearly four year old child with an identifiable eye defect and the ability to identify herself.
Brietta posted on 10/04/2022 “But whether or not that is the reason behind the delay I am certain that Brueckner's trial is going to take place.”

Let’s count the months, shall we?

And particularly one that has received such extensive world-wide publicity. I imagine that the South African case  had no publicity beyond the initial report of her disappearance.

What a wonderful story. Heartwarming. I do recall this scenario being presented about Madeleine at the beginning of the disappearance. Some one who couldn't have children she may be looking after her...Surely they would have taken one of the twins if that were the case.

I have given thought to the 'what if' regarding Little Maddie.
What if Maddie was found alive and has had access to all that was written about her, about what the parents did and said.
How would she react to the knowledge her parents continued to leave her and her siblings alone at night even after her telling her mother about waking up crying...

How would she feel about the Tapas as a group, and their bumbling interviews, Their parents jogging, blogging- meeting and greeting the good and great and not so good and great.

Would she feel good about the fact her parents sued people, vilified a police force and a nation...

What about the lies...

and those 48 questions- in particular the last one!

I suppose it would depend on her upbringing after  her stay @5a... nice family, well looked after or gang of paedos...

The twins are now 10 and will no doubt read about the vitriolic pin-stabbing of their parents by strangers, based on little else other than the opinions of those projecting their own issues (real or imagined).

That's ok, is it?

No, It isn't ok.  The harm was done Years before, then the family kept it all in the front pages to make money, and feel important. They could have lived quietly and still searched for their daughter, others have done that!  The responsibility lies with the family. This is a discussion forum, and I am discussing not inventing stories.

I will not admit to that accusation at all. This forum is a platform to discuss, analys and share thoughts, ideas on what may or may not have happened to little Maddie. I am not in the slightest 'happy' or 'proud' that a little girl went missing. Or that her parents made unwise choices. But these are the issues up for discussion, I will discuss.

I agree that her parents made an unwise choice
