so do you think we should give more money to the met so they can investigate themselves spend 50 million and find themselves not guilty..cmon Stephen...I thought you were brighter than that

No, any investigation should be independent.

How long is this piece of string ?

Where will it stop, with nothing to show for it ?

What other crimes could have been solved with this money ?

Why, in your and your fellows views is this crime worth pursuing ,more than any other, when there are noe £800,000,000 of cuts to come four the Met ?
do you want the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance to be as thorough as is humanly possible, or would you prefer it to stop now, before DNA samples are obtained, or any further leads investigated?

No, any investigation should be independent.

but it isn't is it...

Do you consider that inquiries into historical sexual abuse claims should be abandoned first on the basis that some of the worst offenders are dead & the victims will not see retribution? In the MM case, we pretty much know that the offender(s) are still at liberty - so where is the priority?

What a positivly strange thing to say...the 'offenders' are at liberty really  you know this?  or pretty much know it- who would 'they' be? a paedo ring involving the parents. A paedo ring not involving the parents?
what do paedophiles look like? what jobs do they have? can famous people be paedophiles...

I show you Jimmy Saville... ville in his name and nature by all accounts...who would have thought he was doing vile things to childen- he was so revered- and mixed with popes and royalty...

The priority is London needs to protect Londoners not neglectful parents- is the short answer.

It seems some were, but not all of them.

Unless you know better of course.

One thing is pretty certain - Madeleine did not walk out of apt 5a of her own accord and simply disappear, so there is a criminal third party (or parties) out there somewhere. Whether or not it involves paedophiles, people trafficking or corrupt policemen remains to be seen. Why should the rug be pulled from under the feet of the people working on OG now simply because the current force is apparently under-funded & under-staffed? Portugal has austerity measures in place, but it hasn't stopped them funding what must be an incredibly expensive investigation into Socrates.
Yes, London needs to protect Londoners (plenty of foreigners there who demand British protection & money) but that does not mean London has to have exclusive rights to the best officers this country has. Crime & terrorism is not restricted to the capital.

If the Met can find 6 million on keeping tabs on Julian Assange, then 10 million to solve a crime against a child seems reasonable.

Some would argue that Madeliene DID walk out of the apartment- there is no evidnce to say she didn't. Yet.

The Rug should be pulled because no one is going to put their hands up and say 'WE did it'. Simples.

Portugal can chose how it spends it's money- none of your business.

Portugal has opened it's own investigation...bless ...so it seems they are willing to spend their money..seems only right that the uk should support them
