read the threads...it's quite interesting...I have been criticised for making reasonable comment about Brenda but you have not been criticised by the same people for a joke about those who died in Glasgow

When?, Where?

What was this joke that so offended you?

so you think jokes about the deaths in Glasgow are acceptable

Depends what the jokes were but broadly yes, comedy/satire has to be bold and provocative.

I haven't seen any.

Besides, my gag was more word play really, wasn't it.
Would you be offended if I made a joke about Brenda?  I suppose neither you, nor any of your fan base could say "yes" without coming across as more than a little hypocritical...   &%+((£

Go on then, try me.

P.S, my joke was word play, not spite.

You have no problem with Frankie Boyle's jokes about Madeleine McCann then?  Or any of those gags at the expense of raped, dead or missing kids?

I don't know any jokes about Brenda but I'm sure there are a few.  It was the principle of the matter.  Is it OK to make a joke about Brenda? Is there anything that is out of bounds for the comedian to make a joke out of?

Of course not, just as jokes about Glasgow wouldn't be acceptable outside the victim's houses or in the areas of the net where their families and closest supporters are likely to be reading.

You have to use a bit of sense.

Neither do I.

Until I hear some I can't really say if I'd find them offensive or not.

??? It's OK to joke about victims of the Glasgow crash on the net but not outside their families' houses?  Don't they have the internet in Glasgow?

hypocrisy...as expected

Jokes are to make people laugh....you obviously think it's ok to laugh at the deaths in Glasgow as long as the families don't know

What would determine whether or not you would find them offensive?

Comedy and satire has to be provocative and often they can get uncomfortable truths across in a shocking joke that makes the audience think. That's the idea anyway.
