In a small team working on a documentary a cameraman is a vital component of the team - some of them can even read and write too, s'mazin!  The point which you have swerved is that IF Sonia was working with a renowned documentary cameraman it might have lent her production a smidge more credibility than working with a loser like Lee Ryan.  No doubt you disagree, that's your problem.

Look at Hall's films. He can use a camera, and he can edit. But he can't write (or at least he isn't motivated to/hasn't time to edit his scripts). The script is most important for a documentary.

The credibility of Sonia's film will come from what she says, not from whomever is operating the cameras.

I think you and I both know before we've even seen it that Sonia's film is likely to be low on credibility.  The thing is, if she'd managed to procure the services of a renowned and credible cameraman it would have lent a bit of credibility to the project, more so at any rate than using her lottery loser boyf as camera operator.  You disagree as is your prerogative.  I think that's the raison d'etre of the article in the Star anyway - read about and laugh / despair at these sad, strange people and their "Maddie" obsessions.

She's perfectly capable of producing something credible, but I doubt she had a script/much idea of how to proceed when she began. It's not an easy task.

So she maybe has concentrated on easier aspects. We'll see.

You know very well the Express and Star in particular will print anything connected to this case. They don't need much of an excuse to do yet another superfluous article.

Of course, they also love stories about lotto-loser-Lee - putting the two stories together is tabloid-heaven!  Nevertheless the tone of the article would suggest to the casual reader that Sonia and Lee are a pair of paranoid oddballs engaged in yet another desperate bid for notoriety, this time at the expense of a missing child and her family.  In my opinion of course.... ?>)()<

Ah but consider the IQ of the average reader of the Star.

Kinda explains why this story is conspicuous by its absence in the Times or Guardian doesn't it ?

What is the IQ of the average reader of the Star?  You thought the article "not bad" a few pages back, it obviously resonated with you on some level.  @)(++(*

As has been pointed out on another thread, in a situation as currently exists with a virtual news blackout on two fronts, we have to be careful not to make 'the news'.  That said, there does appear to be an ongoing concerted effort to remove all Maddie news stories from the MSM save for the Telegraphs brave attempts to keep it there.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

The article was reasonably neutral, for the Star.

I believe the writer attends some kind of keep fit class with Miss Healey.

The whole situation is strange..the film seems way behind schedule and we are now told it will be shown in the US first. It also seems no one wants to talk to Sonia...oh  dear

It's not as strange as the case itself davel.

But with her film: why is there a rush? She put pressure on herself with all the superfluous tweeting, but other than that there's all the time in the world.

there's no rush at all because despite her claims there is no untold story...she knows far less about the case than many on here...her film will be an absolute joke ....so why is it now being shown in the US first
