Nothing is ever straightforward is it?

1) How have the defence's lawyers not beeen advised of the verdict but the plaintiff's have

2) How is it possible that a lower court has decreed a ban on any further sales of G Amaral's book when a lower court had banned it a few years ago and a higher court reversed the ruling?

Must be all in the small print

How many legal cases has he now lost ?

Two

G Amaral sued Marcos Correia for defamation but lost because the law in Portugal allows people to get off with it if they say they truly believed it (a bit like uk law)

G Amaral was convicted for signing off his officers reports in the torture of L Cipriano, though he was not involved

pretty unlucky of him

He hasn't really lost versus the Mccanns, just yet, we shall hve to wait and see if he appeals, they lost their last legal battle with him

A good point mercury.  This latest judgement would appear to be in direct conflict with the previous Supreme Court ruling and consequently open to challenge.  Lots more to come on this by the looks of it as Amaral is going to appeal the decison.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

I believe that Isabel Duarte has also not been advised officially because the copy of the verdict given by her to the press does not carry the official stamp from the Citius site.

-snip-

Again, I may be remembering incorrectly, but I thought that Amaral lost a case against his brother, where he owed his brother a considerable amount of money?   Please correct me if I am wrong.

And his book was blocked in the UK.  Was that via the Courts?  Dunno

So, if I am correct, at least 3 cases that Amaral has lost.  Seems he gets things wrong.

You have got it wrong all along John so it's not surprising you don't realise the significance of this result..........this is a resounding success for the McCanns but posters on here will try to pretend otherwise

for those who still don't understand the supreme court judgement was ex parte...in simple terms a temporary ruling until all the full facts have been considered

Amaral will appeal, the case will drag on, and as to the mccanns getting any money in the near future, well that's another story.

The case is unresolved.

Abduction is still a belief, without an iota of factual evidence to back it up.

As to the book, it's too late to ban it, it's already on  the internet.

So let's wait for the next chapter.......................

The next chapter is already being written (METRO:Cop who tried to frame McCanns ...) and Mr Amaral can appeal about the verdict and hold up payment of his dues for as long as it takes ... but since it was his 'honour' that apparently was his motivation and what little he had is now irretrievably in shreds thanks to the Portuguese courts ... his conduct over the last six years has cost him dear and not just in monetary terms.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Why did Isabel Duarte leak the document before it had gone through the legal channels? There was nothing to gain from this and it is possible that she could get in trouble for it.

Amaral never tried to frame the mccanns.

He was following a logical line of inquiry.

and in case you have forgotten, it was the UK police who suggested the Portuguese investigate the mccanns.

I don't write the headlines for the press ... that is for them to do ... I doubt very much if the British police ever suggested that Mr Amaral write a book libelling the parents of a missing child ... as is the ruling of the Portuguese courts.

and the last time Amaral had an appeal, he won.

Let's see what happens in the appeal.

So when do you think the mccanns will get the money from Amaral then ? 8)--))

Appeal what?    That he wrote his book whilst still a Police Officer?   Using his position?    Stating as FACT what he wrote in his book?

Who said writing a book ?

You do have a vivid imagination.

Appeal  the verdict.

and it will be interesting if he instigates proceedings against the mccanns.
