I'll bow to your superior knowledge on this occasion... before I dig myself any deeper!
I don't think I've seen that photo before but I've heard about leggings on the banisters. In fact I think it might state that in CAL's book too.
AE seems to refer to it as a belt?
http://miscarriageofjustice.co/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1053.0;attach=3102It def looks like a halter neck top to me. What do you think puglove? Why would it be there and not with the rest of SC's clothes in her room? Maybe she washed it in part or full and left it there to dry. Or maybe it belonged to Regina Pargeter (or one of her daughters but think it looks too big for a young girl) who stayed a few days earlier but surely June or Jean Boutell would put it away and not just leave it hanging about.
There seem to be a number of objects in unusual places:
- tampon applicator (or part of) in lounge
- teddies in NB and June's bed
- halter neck top (?) hanging over banisters not altogether unusual and certainly a good place for drying something. That's the only reason I can think for leaving it there and not putting it with other clothes.
- feather thing on kitchen table, again perhaps not altogether unusual
- phone under magazines?
Then again perhaps if any of us were caught unaware we might have various objects in ususual places.
