Why is there so much support for Leonor Cipriano from McCann supporters?

He's currently under house arrest awaiting the outcome of the trial for bribery & corruption whilst employed at Sporting Lisbon. He still has the matter of kidnapping & aggravated burglaries to face yet.

It am sure it won't to you Stephen. 

But some find it interesting to see just how many of the "accepted facts" about the Cipriano case do not bear close examination.  The more I see of this, the more convinced I am that the court decision is unsafe.

I can't see what could possibly reopen an official investigation into Joana's disappearance unless she is found aiive or dead.

Or.... just possibly if the PJ is quietly reinvestigating it with indirect assistance from the Met such as potentially recuperating phone records to check who was in that village that night. It may be too late, though.

I don't undertand Correia, to be honest...

- Why does he assume that both children are dead?

- Why does he only defend Leonor?

- What was the purpose of allowing these new "confessions", whoever's idea that was, as if it would constitute new credible, pertinent and relevant evidence to relaunch an investigation into what happened to Joana?

His heart may have been in the right place in terms of trying to get an investigation relaunched, but I don't understand how he thought that it could have worked.

There are myths on both sides.

It does not mean they are not guilty.
