Dear me, insults.

Should I report you?  Nah can't be arsed.

If you think that is insulting ... you've never read my 'fan' mail.  Oh, wait a minute ... I think you may have made a couple of contributions, so you'll know what I'm talking about.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

If they are doctors and don't understand terms in Greek and Latin I don't want them anywhere near to treating me.

Would you want someone ignorant of Greek and Latin terms treating you?  Someone, say, who could not tell the difference between hyper and hypo?

That would be truly scary.

Which medical Latin or Greek terms do you think would have been helpful to explain that their child had been taken and where their apartment was?

Matthew gives a description of what happened when he went to reception to ask them to phone the police,  I see no reason why he would lie about it.   Though everyone has to be lying so as the McCann's can be made out to be these nasty people who didn't even want to phone the police straight away.

In my opinion it happened just the way Matthew said it did,   they didn't want to call the police,  they thought Madeleine had just wandered off and she would turn up.    I think he didn't call the police instead he called the OC to report Madeleine missing,  as according to a Nanny they had children disappear before and they had been found.  They had a special drill that they followed for that type of thing.

I said nothing about 'unsavoury' or 'unfeeling' but I did use the word stupid, about your claim, in the post below:

It is a stupid claim in my opinion, as one cannot have ports closed and roads blocked without the police first being called.

Happy to correct THAT situation.
At no time did I claim that a single poster had used all 3 words, nor did I get near to it.

I see you STILL have not addressed the key point, which is they moved on to discussing blocking roads and sealing borders WITHOUT ensuring the police were called.

So at this point, did Matt chip in that he wasn't certain the police had been called, as per his rogatory, or was this another failed check?

If you think discussing roadblocks and sealing borders before ensuring the police had been called makes sense, I think I am out of this non-discussion.
What's up, old man?

I don't.

I have made perfectly clear the conversation would have taken place in English.  I was asked for, and provided, a cite that shows that English lessons in school are mandatory for 9 years.

I have listed all the T9 interactions that took place, in English.

I have shown that no-one in the T9 ensured the police had been called before deciding what the police actions should be.

It would appear that no-one can dispute these points, but I must admit, I have got tired of reading some of the dross surrounding this, so I may have skipped a post or two.

Unfortunately not as many as I would like.

If there was such a discussion I don't see it happening without them believing that the police had been alerted.

There is a record that there was much distress about the length of time it was taking for the police to arrive.  They thought reception had phoned as soon as they were informed.  Every minute must have seemed like an hour while they waited.

When the police did arrive and given how long the child had been searched for ... I find it strange they appeared to have no protocols on hand to initiate the appropriate response in the event a child goes missing.

i can fully understand why the didn't call the police themselves...and far as I can see they asked staff who were bilingual to call the police...what is wrong with that

Would that be the same reason why they didn't search themselves? How do you know the receptionist was bilingual?

Steve Carpenter was at the 24 hour reception on 4th with Gerry's 'surfing' friends;

We walked towards the supermarket and ended up at the 24 hour reception where some men tried to speak to some Portuguese employees in the attempt to make a phone call, but communication became complicated because the employee did not speak English and the man did not speak Portuguese.

Lovely that your post began with the word "Allegedly" when referring to Matt's statement that he went to reception to ask them to phone the police.  This implies strongly that you think there is some doubt about whether this ever happened.  The conclusion that I draw from what you have written is that you think Matt is a liar.

A claim or statement that is alleged hasn't been proven true. In this case the receptionist didn't confirm Matt's statement therefore we don't know if it's true or not. I drew no conclusion either way. I don't need your opinions about what I meant, thank you, I already know what I meant.

So Shining In Luz believes she has stumbled upon a noteworthy point.  The McCanns and their friends were allegedly more interested in road blocks and closing the ports than they were in making sure the police had been called.  This is because:
1) They were all bit sloppy and simply not pushy enough
2) They were all crazy
3) They were all drunk
4) They were having a laugh
5) They all knew Madeleine wasn't coming back so they were just having a general chat about what they would do if a child really was abducted
6) They actually believed the police had been called and were on their way

Or something else..?  What is the significance of thisnoteworthy point I wonder... &%+((£
