As if the phantom child stealer would strike again.

Shades of horses and stable doors springs to mind.

It merely compounded the mccanns illogical behaviour.

Cuddle Cat was in the bed with Madeleine.  Cuddle Cat was evidence.  Cuddle Cat was not carefully bagged immediately as evidence and dispatched to the Portuguese lab for forensic examination.

It is recognised as one of the initial errors of the investigation spearheaded by Goncalo Amaral.

Perhaps Katie Hopkins should take a step back and wonder why Cuddle Cat should not have been taken to be tested and not why it should have been available to be washed.

In my experience children smell of their last bath and talc ... I have never noticed the 'smell of a child' on a clean soft toy ... has anyone?

Eddie barked at it because cadaver hands fetched it and put it on the bed. I want to see all those photos of Madeleine with her precious cat.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Why didn't Eddie bark while he was playing with the toy?

From a source who knows MG.

I asked Martin why Eddie did not alert to cuddle cat when he first encountered the toy and his response was this, and I quote:

"Eddie was given a cuddly toy as a reward in training so reverted to puppy mode. His initial reaction in playing with the toy was not unusual at all."
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

I seem to recall it was also Martin Grime who claimed he recommended the toy be forensically examined ....

She had it at bedtime or if she wasn't feeling well. I see no reason why the McCanns should feel obliged to produce any photos of her cuddling up to it for people on forums to pore over.

Eddie didn't alert to the toy for blood. It was a cadaver alert like he did in another case where he alerted to the suspects diary who wrote in it after he had handled a body.

Cornwall, UK
A woman was reported missing by her partner. A search of the suspects
house by the EVRD was conducted who indicated on the living room carpet.
No forensic evidence was recovered. Subsequently a diary written by the
suspect was alert indicated by the dog. The diary had written extracts that the
offender had laid the victim on the carpet whilst dead, the diary had in fact
been written by the suspect having handled the body. This was confirmed by
the offender in interview.

Was Cuddlecat the only object "Cadaver Hands" touched in the apartment then?  Not the light switches, not the door handles, not the furniture, not the torn sticker book, not the clothes he was wearing, not the phones he was using, etc etc etc...?

No photos but there was a sister website to the original bringmadeleinehome website called cuddlecat.co.uk

Always found that odd up and running so early when no one in the world had any idea what the toy was called and even if they did, why would they google it to find a site dedicated to finding Madeleine?

Eg say when Ben Needham went missing (pretend the Internet was what it is today) we read in the paper his fave toy was thomasthetank, would you google thomasthetank to find news? Iyswim

"The dog has also been trained to identify cadaver scent contamination where
there is no physically retrievable evidence, due to scent adhering to pervious
material such as carpet or the upholstery in motor vehicles." MG

That includes CC.

Russell put his kids in the creche the day after, but hung around outside, he didn't go far away. Luckily they were both together at the Tapas site that day;

The kids at some stage here got put into the crèche and for a fair amount of the morning was spent in there, you know, we, we certainly didn’t really feel like being away from them for too long”......I rang T** W********  from the balcony of the crèche and, you know, had quite a long conversation with him explaining what had happened”.

LOL ... there is no such thing as a VRD dog reacting in a working situation by salivating all over evidence and throwing it into further contamination unless it is way over the hill and not fit for purpose.

That the GNR dogs compromised the crime scene by casting hair was not their fault ... dogs cast and that is that it was for the handlers or senior officer at the scene to consider.
If however Eddie's trained response when detecting cadaver odour was to bark ... he was way way out of line when he either picked up objects in his mouth to toss around as he did in the garage or as in the example of Cuddle Cat.

Had there been recoverable forensic evidence in the first instance it would have at the least been contaminated or destroyed by the dog picking it up in his mouth

Read the alleged quote more carefully.

"Reward" ... "training" ... "reverted???"

Dogs, even domestic animals, are trained when they are given a reward to condition them.
For example  to enable safely crossing a busy road the "stay!" or "sit!" command is used and rewarded by being given a treat when the lesson is obeyed.

If that sequence of training is ignored and the animal reverts to an initial puppy mode when encountering traffic ... I am afraid at the least the result will be one very flattened dog or at the worst a serious RTA.

Then I don't think Ms Hopkins knew enough about Eddie and Cuddle Cat to think along those lines and cares even less ... she is just checking the lexicon for the buzz words, Cuddle Cat being just an example.

One has to earn a living by pandering to one's target audience after all ... she's used a couple of 'controversial' points to keep the pot on the boil ... there are plenty more where those came from and the readers' responses to them well rehearsed.
While in the real world people are just getting on with their own lives not spamming hate on others.
