Of course. It will achieve publicity for Hopkins and satisfy all those who feel the need to tweet in agreement.

But little else.
I'm sure Katie will soon find another target.

I have to confess that I had read a few of her comments in the past , but decided to further my knowledge and I was stunned by some of her comments.

Possibly one of the worst was " Show me bodies floating in water, play violins and show me skinny people looking sad. I still don't care"

Do you think her children read her comments or worse still hear her say such dreadful utterances.
Deal with the failings of others as gently as with your own.

it's 0.004% of daily DM readership, but if you think that's significant then that's up to you I guess...

And how many of the Daily Mail readership actually vote, in general ?

The world is full of "if onlys", it's pointless to harpon about them continually, nine years after the event.  Time to get over it.

Time to get over it.

you wish ....all the time the abduction ...is the scenario...i wont ...and neither will thousands and thousands of others

if Stephen Fry was enough on his own to guarantee success, why drag two mothers of dead / missing children into it?  Glad to see you agree Kate's covered in glory though... @)(++(*

Reflected glory Alfie.

As to the actually publicity for the alert neither Kate or Corrin Jones are mentioned. Their names only come up in relation to the award.

if they hadn't received an award we wouldn't be talking about it, see how it works?

But as only a few of the members reading this will sign, or has signed, up to the alerts then I'm not sure how it proves that this kind of publicity helps ( other than to try and burnish Kate's rather tarnished halo ).

@)(++(* So no evidence at all that Kate is harming the charity.  I would go so far as to say the reverse is true, as by lending her name to tne charity ( like her or loathe her) she has helped raise its profile immeasurably.  Do you really think it would have got quite so much publicity without her involvement?  Remember, all publicity is good publicity!

If all publicity is good publicity the McCanns wouldn't have been whining to the Leveson inquiry.

no, was I tasked with doing so?  Do you think it's been made up then?

if Kate's involvement has actively harmed the charity and the alert scheme then she would have been quietly dropped, simple as that.

Donations to the charity have decreased.

Having appointed her and having had complaints, as they have, they would be left with egg on their face by dropping her now.

However, don't worry, I'm sure they will in due time.

Apart from some self-serving interviews in the Sun ŵhich mentioned the alert system I haven't found Kate's name mentioned in any of the publicity surrounding the current launch. As to the 'award', was it the choice of the MP or the donator of the prize, an established McCann supporter, to give it to Kate ?
