About our police supposedly complaining about lack of co-operation from PJ. Do WE (as taxpayers in the UK) finance the Portuguese investigation too? Just it would take man hours and such to question a bunch of (likely) irrelevant people in regards to this case. Maybe the PJ gave just got sick of the amount of suspects SY are coming up with and are sick of wasting time  &%+((£

SY must most definitely be paying for anythng THEY are investigating

The first evidence is that KM discovered the window and shutter open.

A draft closed the door on her and she didn't check that the window in that room was open. She then left that door and went to the patio door before coming back again and then opening the magic moving door again to check on the children (about time!) and then left that room to check on her room and then went back again and WHOOOOOOSH all was revealed!!!

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

I have never been burgled here.  And I frequently don't lock my doors, day or night. And never when I go out.
I'm guilty of this  8()-000(

Especially when the kids aren't here.. I'm a bit more cautious with them around. However, I think if someone wants to be in, they will get in some way. If its through an open door then at least you don't have to shell out for a new window

With all due respect to Mr Amaral, he is talking nonsense here.  There are 9 gates into/out of Estrela, and a total of 10 CCTV cameras, all taking images inside the fence.  That includes the one nearest Primary School street.  It is way too far off to catch anything on Primary School street, and in any event, it points the other way, away from that corner.

Mr Amaral knew next to nothing about Luz.  I doubt he knew Estrela existed or had CCTV.  That CCTV only became important after the Smith statements of 26 May 2007, when it could be used to tighten up the timing.

The unnamed officer did not fail to pick up one camera.  No one was tasked to search for CCTV cameras across Luz and secure copies from near the incident time.

This is the first I've heard of CCTV outside Baptista.  I'll check at some point, but do you have any more information on this?

As I explained earlier, the OC does not own any of the apartments so has no right to monitor them.

The Baptista cameras are for inside surveillance only and do not record.

The Resident spoke to an employee at Supermercado Baptista who told us that the PJ were in the premises to check the supermarket’s surveillance cameras in case they had registered images of Madeleine. However, the employee told us that the two cameras are unable to record images and are only used by staff to check the aisles for any suspicious customer behaviour. - See more at: http://madeleinemccann.org/blog/2014/04/20/04-may-2007/#sthash.XFMDBABs.dpuf
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Thank you Brietta.
What's up, old man?

IMO OG should be looking for a burglar who only opened the window and shutter, then immediately fled without taking the child.

This is actually a theory I have thought of before. Madeleine disturbed in her sleep (by someone lifting the shutters...which I imagine makes a bit of a racket?)..wakes up and mammy and daddy are gone again. She is terrified. Leaves apartment to find her parents. And either some accident befalls her (though unlikely as I would think a body would have been found) or she is actually abducted by some opportunistic person seeing a kid walking the streets at night...

Mind I have a lot of theories and have never really formed a solid view on this case.

It makes little difference to the outcome whether Madeleine was abducted by burglars from within the apartment ~ or having been disturbed by burglars was abducted from the street.  In either scenario she was abducted and someone was responsible for doing that.

What are the stats on opportunstic paedos? Findng a kid n the street..pretty much zero in a situation like this, and less than zero an abduction from  bed on holiday

I quite agree.

The main sticking point for woke and wandered scenario is how SURE Kate was that that could never have happened.

How on earth can one know that a nearly 4 year old would not be able to open an unlocked door and leave the apartment...baffling.

No idea. probably around the same odds as burglars leaving valuables and taking a child instead  %£&)**#

In other cases a typical response is to hide in the residence.
