We can't have aspersions being cast on just one country in this great big world, can we. There are too many one-sided accusations in this case already.

There was Portugal, offering it's nice weather and pretty beaches to tourists. It's people served them until all hours for very low wages, but were grateful to have a job.

A child disappears and suddenly Portugal is a hell-hole. It's full of pedophile gangs, burglars, lone pedophiles, smelly men targeting little British girls, incompetent policemen and a disgraceful Judiciary. Now it's being suggested that it's burglars will morph into human trafickers or worse without batting an eyelid.

I think it's quite disgraceful.

portugal is tier 2 for trafficking...UK tier 1...so criticism is not unjustified

portugal is not complying with minimum standards...that's MINIMUM standards

On Tuesday a little girl will have been missing from her family for nine years.  No-one knows where she is, what happened to her or whether she is alive or dead probably not even the person/s who kidnapped her.

It is worth bearing that in mind when posting comment about the situation.

It is also worth bearing in mind that the crime is unknown.

Meaningless.

So how many members of SY did that originate from ?

Now we know of course, that members of SY and other police forces donated to Amaral's fund.

I wonder if SY have considered scenarios combining the interrupted burglary hypothesis with the VRD intelligence inside the apartment?

We know all that and how you draw it like Excalibur when you take the moral high ground.
The child is most probably dead. Best not think about any other option.
But the antics of supporters with respect to a botched burglary shows a remarkable lack of thought and is entertaining.

Trafficking is well known in Portugal.

I am sure that those who are trafficked in the UK will take great comfort from the fact they are being trafficked in a Tier 1 country.

You said ... "It is quite entertaining really."

If you think I am taking the moral high ground with reference to that ... well, yes.

The working hypothesis concerning what happened to Madeleine McCann according to the tabloids mentions ~ botched ~ burglary ~ kidnapping.

I don't recognise the entertainment value of a family tragedy outlined in those terms.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....
