As regards Heriberto, he has nailed his perch to abduction from the start.
So I would treat his approach with caution.

For various reasons, I do not support Heriberto's theorem. We discussed differences of opinion in a very extended and very cordial manner.
And we also discussed some of the various stages his theory evolved through. Whether you trust me or not, he did NOT start out with abduction in mind.
We discussed one of my options, which is at total variance with Heri's theory. He was very enthusiastic about this, as he was unaware of the 'evidence' supporting this possibility. In fact, he urged me to get in touch with OG about it, and has stated more than once he will check this out when he returns to Madrid. He has perfected ways of digging up information that I have not, so this might provide further details.
He also said, on numerous occasions, that for him it is not about proving his theory is right. It is about finding out what happened to Madeleine.
The piece of information was a throw-away comment in a conversation about something else entirely. It was not some sort of directed comment. In fact, when I realised its importance, I had to drag Heri back to the comment several times, to elicit the underlying information.
