Firstly we have no idea if the shutters were down when the burglars gained entry to the apartments.
Secondly the issue at hand is not whether the shutters could be raised and held open but whether they could be raised without being damaged and it would seem that the twice it was tried relatively close to the disappearance the shutter buckled.

Heri did not damage the shutters ... therefore as I am concerned ... case proved categorically.  It is possible to raise the shutters from outside as described by the first witness on the scene on 3 May 2007.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Heri would be prime suspect with his fingerprints all over the window.
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

(snip) The only evidence on the window was found on the inside pointing to being opened from there (snip)
Please post a photo the supposed fingerprint in a position that indicates KM opened the window Pathfinder.
You can't, because it does not exist.
All you'll find are these 5 prints which were all on the glass

Heri didn't raise the shutters of 5a so I'm not entirely sure why you are arguing this point and while tha the case may be proved for you for those of a more objective bent I'm sure it will take rather more than Heri not raising the shutters of 5a to convince them.

You have proved nothing of any consequence.

There is no evidence WHATSOEVER of a break-in to apartment 5A.

Indeed. The fact that something could have happened does not mean that it did happen

I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

Nobody saw the window open Pegasus apart from the McCanns. Amy Tierney who came later clearly was confused. Why don't you prove to me that it was opened instead of believing a witness you don't know.

On the other hand, if it did happen, it would explain why the child left that bedroom and went to another room.

Which doesn't mean it happened here, it means it has happened elsewhere. You are suggesting that someone walked past the Oldfield's dark quiet and shuttered apartment to knock on the McCann's door. Why not try the Oldfield's?

1)  The McCann front door was in near absolute blackness
... and furthermore deeply recessed.  Out of sight.

It was at the end of a curved walled footpath that finished there.  No passers-by.

If they happened to glance right as they joined the walled pathway, this curve blocked visibility to both Madeleines window and very much so to the front door of 5A ... for anyone leaving the hallway to the other flats

It was beyond the peripheral vision of anyone passing across the car park to the place in the middle of the building where the walled footpath started.  Everyone going to and from their apartments had to use this walled footpath ... so they all took the same route across the car park.
Both Madeleines window and the front door were beyond their peripheral vision and both were dark, most especially the front door

2)  On the other hand, the front door to the Oldfield apartment was in a very brightly lit entrance hallway.  This hallway was not enclosed as it would have been in the UK, but fully open from the outside, so visible to the world.   This hallway serviced the stairways to upstairs, with all the flats at different levels and also the entrances to a number of ground floor flats.

People coming and going via this hallway + its visibility to the world outside made the Oldfield flat very less attractive to a potential person set on breaking in/ letting themselves in with a key via the front door to 5A.

Sadie that is a very good analysis.
The north access to 5A was much darker than the north access to 5B, 5D, and 5H.

...and absolutely no evidence there was a third party in the apartment.

Do you believe a child left in a hurry from this bed? CC didn't even move.

"They also kissed Madeleine, who was lying down. She was under the covers, she thinks because she was a bit cold. She normally clutched the soft toy and if she wasn't holding it then it was next to her, on the left. She remained lying down on her left side, with the soft toy and a pink blanket, to cover her." KM

"Madeleine was lying down on her left side, she was completely uncovered, that is, lying on top of the covers, with the soft toy and the blanket, both pink, next to her head, not knowing if they were placed in the position in which one can see them in the photograph attached to the files." GM

Yes, the burglar was disturbed by a someone before he climbed in Steve, that's why he did not enter the apartment IMO.

I do not believe there was a burglar.

Absolutely no proof of one at all.

@pathfinder do I recall that your theory believes that the child was never in this bedroom that evening?
