How would you extend that understanding to the equivalent apartment in block 4? There, using streetview, you can see on the exactly equivalent carpark-facing shuttered bedroom window, an internal lockable metal security grille has been installed. Also on the top right of that window you can see a notice which is presumably a "protected by alarm" warning notice to potential burglars. Why did an owner install that internal grille and and install that notice?

Bearing in mind some of the properties were let out on a commercial basis rather than owner occupied I would make sure there had been no legislative changes in the interim, retrospective or otherwise before I became too excited. Or maybe a new owner was simply a bit security conscious.

It is nothing to do with legislation Alice.
It is simple - a groundfloor flat very close to and virtually identical to 5A got burgled. To prevent it getting burgled again, the owner installed extra security, especially on the most burglar-vulnerable window, which is the bedroom window facing the carpark, where a strong lockable internal metal grille was installed, to make the Heri opening method impossible.

Burglary was in the evening.
I believe the adults had gone out to a restaurant.

Perhaps he should read the Daily Mail? I can find no quotes giving the apartment number, however. Please provide your cite.

However the articles contain sufficient information which when combined with elementary internet sleuthing, leads to its exact location. Heriberto's site contains more details.

He mentions 5G and 5L (which are not ground-floor and not same layout as 5A) but does not mention this one. Therefore he was unaware of it. So are you and Heriberto going with the 100 yards or the 100 metres distance from G5A?
