Perhaps we need to examine some other cases where criminals have petitioned their government to get their crimes reviewed and reinvestigated by the authorities. I’m sure there must be numerous examples, just like there are numerous examples of children dying near instantaneously after plummeting off a sofa.
I think criminals usually make determined attempts not to highlight their wrongdoings and certainly do their level best either to keep it all out of the public eye not publicise the crime at every opportunity.
Or if the worst comes to the worst - to pin all on a carefully chosen patsy.
Amaral chose Kate McCann as his patsy and conversely by hook or by crook did his level best at all times since to make his the only narrative. And spared no effort to prevent Madeleine being looked for.
My opinion is that Amaral better fits what I think would be more appropriate behaviour for a perpetrator with the actions of his preferred scapegoats being totally appropriate for those trying to find their missing child.
Leaving no stone unturned so to do.
