Knew she couldn't?  According to official British paediatric stats, she was of sufficient height and weight to open the window and shutter.
That isnt true....no one knows how much force is needed to open either....or the patio doors. Some are stifff and quite difficult to open

If Heri's video is anything to go by, they open quite easily.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.

for a man yes...not for a 3 to 4 yr old

what it does show is how easy it would be for an abductor

Heri never climbed in though which answers the other question.

Who was ridiculing the notion that sometimes firemen rescue children via a window?.

Uh huh ... proves that he would make a rubbish burglar ... but it doesn't negate the fact that there are some who make a living at it or at least enough to pay for their next fix.

Although I think it would be fair to say that in Praia da Luz the preferred port of entry and exit seemed to be the door;  possibly attracting less attention that way.

Mrs Fenn's experience seems to point to the expediency of a hasty escape route should the occasion arise.

Instead of guessing why not check to see what firefighters customarily do about windows in a blazing building and more to the point why they do it. It is well recorded if you care to look in the right places. I am sure a big boy like you can look it up without help from an idiot like me ................ @)(++(*
I should join the local volunteer fire brigade and get hands on training.

Reading the posts today, it becomes obvious that the argument isn't between those who believe in an Abductor and those who believe TheMcCannsDunnit but rather between those who believe the McCanns are blameless and those who believe they bear some responsibility for what happened.

I would agree with that in its entirety, for all the threads on  this subject Slarts.

Re: Firemen, well these would be Portuguese's firemen so.. maybe the fanclub would have something to say about that... namely how incompetent they are if they can't rescure children from a window...

So you'd agree then that a fireman, even a Portuguese one, would be able to enter and exit via the window carrying a child and that therefore the claim that it would have been IMPOSSIBLE for an abductor to do so is completely bogus.

A child?  Or Madeleine?

Not Madeleine through the 5A window.

I don't think I have ever seen anyone anywhere, certainly not on this forum, claim an abductor climbed through Madeleine's bedroom window while carrying her.

The preferred options appear to be the front door ... or passing her through the window to an accomplice.

I believe the Rebelo investigation checked it out by sending a man through carrying a burden.

Why not?  She wasn't an exceptionally large or awkward shaped child.  Why would it have been IMPOSSIBLE to get through the window with her?  Do tell.

Me neither, but I'm curious to know why anyone would claim it was a physical impossibility.

Preferred options by whom> oh in the 'abduction' story to make it fit?  ahh nice move.

The whole idea derived from the McCanns saying that a child was abducted and this is known because the mother, just happened, to notice a door ajar at a different angle her husband left it on his last visit,. the window was open and curtains were blowing and whooshing sounds were made to emphasis this.

So, at that point there was no mention of open doors - front or back, ( why didn't this door slam shut when the 'abductor' carried Maddie through the flat)? I find the whole thing too absurd to give it credence anyway.

I haven't seen it claimed on the forum.  Hence I find this debate lacks gravitas.

But if we are going to cover firemen in Portugal, the 5A window, and Madeleine, we might as well have a veneer of reality.
