Proconsul Angela Morada was in the car and relayed what was happening from the PJ to the McCanns. Either a PJ officer spoke English or Angela spoke Portuguese.

There was no language barrier.

p92 hardback (ch 6, 10hb pages in) "... the police officer had a call from his station.  He said something to Angela, who explained that he'd been ordered to return us to the station straight away."

No language barrier, according to Kate.

She was scared by the journey, certainly, and I would say that the police officers dealing with the situation were thoughtless (rather than calculated) in not explaining everything as fully as they might.

I am willing to trust that the car was driven safely at high speeds (which well-trained drivers can certainly do).  Also, it is possible that Kate, in a fraught and highly emotional state, might not have recalled that sequence of events with absolute precision.

If you have evidence that the PJ had the CCTV image while the McCanns were at the station, please cite it, because I cannot remember seeing any.

If you have any evidence that the PJ officer in possession of the CCTV image was informed the McCanns were soon to depart, please cite it, because to date, I cannot remember seeing any.

In the absence of such evidence we are firmly in the speculation zone.

Please refer to post #222.

So the blog has this but Kate's book does not.

Does this mean the blog is correct, but Kate's book is not?

But thank you for your help in providing a source.  Much appreciated.   8((()*/

A modicum of sense within a thread replete with nonsense.   8((()*/

So did the policeman explain what to the proconsul?

Is it possible you could make your posts a little clearer?

Thank you.   8((()*/

Just because two different accounts of the same event varies does not mean one is wrong
This is probably why you think there are mistakes in the book

I know there are mistakes in the book.

I know you know there are mistakes in the book.  As proved by you in this thread.

The driver very likely was told to return urgently but not given any additional information.  As for thoughtless, I don't think so.  If your missing child had been found wouldn't you want to be returned to the police HQ at the speed of light or am I missing something here?  Was there some sinister reason why finding Maddie might have been a problem for some people.
