There is a lot of information in the interview transcript actually. With regard to the McCanns Rowley is very clear on Operation Grange's position;

"So our mission here is to do everything reasonable to provide an answer to Kate and Gerry McCann."
[Part 1]

"the involvement of the parents, that was dealt with at the time by the original investigation by the Portuguese. We had a look at all the material and we are happy that was all dealt with and there is no reason whatsoever to reopen that or start rumours that was a line of investigation."
[Part 2]

"Q: Just to be clear you did not interview the McCanns as potential suspects?
MR: No"
[Part 2]

So their mission (remit?) is to find an answer for Kate and Gerry. They looked at what the Portuguese had done and decided that the involvement of the parents had been dealt with. Operation Grange did not revisit that possibility. At that point the interviewer really should have mentioned out the Supreme Court's point that the Portuguese investigation was closed with unanswered questions remaining, particularly in relation to the timeline on the evening of 3rd May.

Still, those who thought it was ridiculous to think that Operation Grange did not 'clear the ground' and eliminate the parents now know. The parents have not been investigated and cleared by Operation Grange.

You're in denial Dave.  The SC judgement stands.
The SC judgement stands.  Amaral is allowed his opinion but none of the official investigations are backing him.  It is a hollow victory.

Hollow victory ?

How many times have we been told by Mccann supporters that SY investigated them ?

We know now it never happened, and that it appears OG have totally disregarded what happened in the court case in Portugal.

I wonder if the current PJ 'investigation' knew about this failure.

What an odd misinformed post
What relevancef has the SC judgement got on the investigation
None whatsoever
Grange looked at the evidence against the McCanns and decided they were not involved

But what about you do you see sufficient reason to look at the McCanns again?

Could there be arguidos that no-one knows about?

"Q: The question of other suspects, is there anyone like those four who have been dismissed, is there
anyone who has the “alguido” status?
MR: I’m not going to give that level of detail away, we have got some critical lines of enquiry and we
are working with the Portuguese on that, we are both interested in. Disclosing any more information
on that will not help the investigation."

But what about you do you see sufficient reason to look at the McCanns again?

No other party has been found to have been in the apartment on that night.

There is no evidence of a burglary/intruder, forensic or otherwise.

The McCann's were not cleared by the original investigation.

What this tends to show, is either OG has been incompetently run, and/or they were told not to investigate the McCann's.

The said there was no evidence of innocence

They made a massive mistake there then.

When the case was shelved it stated it had not cleared the parents, so why would SY claim otherwise ?

Could they not read ?

Did it not occur to them that others could read the report shelving the case ?

Rowley's report has unleashed a major faux pas.

If the "timeline" will give answers ... why do you suppose it hasn't already?
Cos four years isn't nearly long enough to study the arcane secrets that the timeline holds.
