The use of the term 'abductor' should be qualified by caveat.

Increasingly, some posters have taken to using the 'abductor' term as if it was a foregone conclusion.  This is not the case.

The information currently within the public domain is that all options are open in respect of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Posters should give careful consideration to the comments they post and not use terminology such as 'the abductor' or 'the killer' etc without providing an appropriate caveat.

Terms such as 'if there was an abductor' or 'in my view there was an abductor' are perfectly acceptable.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Abduction is not a fact.

Eleanor posted her belief - IOW her opinion - and nowhere did she claim it as a proven fact.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

'.... The Abductor...'

No,   'an abductor'.

So if   '... The Abductor..' is acceptable, then so is '....The Death....'.

There is still plenty of mileage in discussion of the abduction as one retired cop after another goes to print with his opinion ... which one of them has cast his hat into the ring along with Amaral's?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Unless any of the theories are proved, which I very much doubt, they are just theories, and no more.

But a theory that covers all of the bases could be worth investigating specifically along those lines.

Not really, Eleanor expressed a belief in where the Abductor was and when, not if he existed.

Exactly Slarti.

The use of the word 'the' was indicative of that being stated as a fact.

I believe an abductor exists.

I believe an abductor exists.

You are more than entitled to do that.

However, it doesn't make it a fact, and the use of 'the', directly implies that.

I believe an abductor exists.

You may well do. You didn't make it clear it was your belief, you posted it as fact.

The cause of Madeleine's disappearance has not been ascertained.

FACT.

Madeline's ultimate fate has not been determined either.
