Is there some reason why we have to believe everything the police tell us? I thought they had occasionally got it wrong in previous cases.
As  I have posted before its not a matter of beleiving what the police tell us. Its a matter of putting everything together and seeing if it fits. There is no evidence against the mccanns...nothing has come to light in ten yeras...therefore its reasonable to accept that the police say they are not suspects

Just because the police say 'abduction' doesn't make it a fact. It may be their hypothesis but unless and until they present their evidence it's just a theory.

Not only in the last 10 years, but there is nothing in their history to even hint that they were capable of doing what they have been accused of  - but plenty to suggest they could not possibly contemplate doing such a terrible thing to their own beloved little girl  - whom they had waited so long for.

It makes no sense at all, and if it doesn't make sense -  it didn't happen IMO.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

That makes perfect sense and is exactly what the police have told us

All these rules,   it's why  I don't post on here much these days.

Mark Rowley said that however Madeleine left the apartment she was abducted,   so saying 'abductor'  surely can't be misleading.

Just his opinion.

Not a fact.

The logical extension of your view is that Amaral's view should be taken first.

After all, he was there in Portugal when events took place.

How about Rowley, when did he go to Portugal ?

Accept whatever you like as is your right but the truth is that many people do not believe the McCanns as they continue to be mired in controversy despite comments made by the likes of Mark Rowley.  There is diddly squat evidence of any abductor and I challenge you and Rowley to produce any.

What do you think of Amaral's hypothesis of Madeleine's body being put in that coffin, allegedly?

I've heard of that Eleanor.

What was the basis of his theory for that ?

There was a body in a coffin in the church.  That's it really.

You would think by that comment that Rowley and the Met actually know something but then his comments were made for public consumption.  His comments added nothing to what we already know about this sham investigation, comments which any fool could see were contradictory throughout. On the one hand Rowley stated they did not know what became of Maddie but then went on to make wide sweeping claims about an abductor and the parents.

A very accurate summation of the situation Angelo.

what evidence do you have that it is a sham investigation...they believe maddie was abducted and the parents are not involved. they are investigating an abduction. Nothing contradictory

Redwood put the kibosh on the abduction claim when he as good as ruled Tannerman out. Now Rowley wants to reinvent him as a means to cover their own failed investigation and the £11 million squandered looking for ghosts.

I hope you aren't suggesting that Madeleine was murdered.
