then provide a cite...it is NOT a well known fact

It is to those who are well read on the case.  Could I suggest you read the book Smokescreen by former M3 employees Julian Peribanez and Antonio Tamarit.

Does this help?

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/290600/Madeleine-Secret-files-reveal-four-sightings-in-Morocco

I read that as evidence that Metedo3 put in serious efforts to try to locate Madeleine.

This type of work by its very nature carries no guarantee of success.

In particular, this:

Quote
“We took inquiries as far as we could and then handed it over to the Portuguese police. We did it all in the proper way, wrote a report then gave it to Spanish police and they would pass it on to the Portuguese police for us.

Don't see how any of that justifies the claim (on this board!) of Angelo.

Who cares?

It was the McCanns who chose and announced the date of departure, not anyone else.  They chose to leave before a change in the law would come into effect.

This chosen date of departure has nothing to with what Amaral and team might or might not have known re this legal change.

The McCanns announced their departure before they were questioned and made arquidos, mainly because the villa rental was due to come to an end.

Amaral knew that they were leaving.

This suggests to me the reason for the haste.  And the haste in which it was done was mentioned later by the Detective who took over.

Sorry.  I can never remember if it was Ribello or Ribeiro.

Strawman!

The topic of discussion is why the Portuguese authorities chose to press imposition of arguido status before a change in Portuguese law that would have required them to justify their reasons.

In particular, it was made clear by Harrison and Grime that no incriminating inference could be made from the reactions of the dogs.

I would say the McCanns fled Portugal because they feared they were going to be arrested
You are libelling Kate McCann, because in her book she describes a quite different set of events.  I would suggest you refrain from further libellous comments, and instead read her book.

I have put the references in before.

P232.  "We'd waited almost 4 weeks for these interviews and it was obvious they had been hastily arranged once Bob Small notified the PJ that we would be leaving the country."

The Smiths' 'guilt' or 'innocence' of anything was never in question.
????

This sounds like you are implying the T9 had something to hide, IMO.

Stop posting rubbish I am libelling no one
I think it's clear one of the reasons the McCanns left was they were concerned about being arrested

Tell us what it adds to the statements
Nothing
It adds a lot.

That you are incapable of seeing it or are choosing to ignore it is not my problem.

I have no doubt.  Didn't Kate record in her novel that Gerry was ready to pack up their belongings in the hire car and head off to Spain but she talked him out of it?

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

That's not what it says in Kate's book, but does it matter?

The McCanns decided to leave.  The McCanns passed this information via Bob Small to the PJ.  Their intended departure date was before the change in the law.

Team Amaral could not wait until the law changed.  The McCanns intended departure date precluded that.

It was McCann choice.  Not team Amaral choice.

I do not consider Davel's comment to be Libellous.  Kate did appear to be afraid of being arrested.

Does any of this matter?

The topic of discussion is whether posters should make clear that abduction is alleged.  I swear I can hear Brietta getting her pruning shears out to make this sequence more relevant to the thread title.
