Amaral claims the dog's alert was to cadaver odour
That is not a fact
It therefore shows he does not understand the evidence
If you do not realise that then you do not understand the evidence
Amaral claimed that not only did the dog alert to cadaver odour but that it was Madeleine's cadaver odour as no-one else was shown to have died in apartment 5A in the past. That was a serious flaw in his thesis, simply because there may have been an unreported death in the vicinity (including next door as the odour can penetrate concrete).
In the case of Bella Bond (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bella_Bond_murder_case) no-one in authority was even aware that the little girl was missing, let alone dead. Had her remains not been discovered & a facial reconstruction undertaken, the authorities would never have discovered that a cadaver alert in a refrigerator actually did pertain to a dead child, about whom they had no prior knowledge.
