I prefer my police officers to be motivated by the available evidence.

I totally agree.

A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

Then thank God you chose science as a career and not policing because I don't think you would ever have been very good at the latter.

What exactly did you consider a cliche in the information the official police spokesperson was authorised to impart?

Repetition of the same statements.

As to the first sentence, I would certainly place you in the bracket. You appear to show unwavering support of the mccanns, knowing full well, the crime if any, has not been determined, and no one has been charged.

You see in science, you need evidence to back up a theory........

I have said, there is b....r all in this case.

Investigators denied claims the search had reached a stalemate following reports only two trips to Portugal have been made in the past year.

Detectives, who said they do not have to be in Portugal to conduct their investigation, added they are in possession of significant material gathered during previous trips.

"A lot of potentially significant images and material were captured on previous trips to Portugal and we are still working on all leads,"a Met Police spokesperson told The Sun.

If by September the police are still claiming to be following leads in Madeleine McCann's case ... the home secretary is going to be presented with the choice to set the precedent of closing down an active investigation into the case of a missing child or allowing it to be taken to conclusion by awarding more funding.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Throwing more money at an investigation which has a very narrow brief is a waste of time.  If Walls and SY were doing their job properly they would be investigating the Metodo 3 debacle and all who were involved in it.  At the end of the day this conspiracy to pervert the course of justice might be the only way that charges can be brought against anyone.

Madeleine might never be found but there are living identifiable persons who should be prosecuted for their unsavoury criminal conduct following the disappearance.  There is a mountain of evidence against these individuals and I for one want to see them prosecuted and prosecuted in Portugal.

If there was an attempt to pervert the course if justice then that's the job of Portugal to investigate
What are they doing about it
I'm not sure there was any such attempt

Reading between the lines I gather they don't want to rock the boat while the other investigation is live.

The same lines tell me that Amaral is also waiting on the sidelines to pounce.

Suing Correia for defamation has nothing to do with his activities on behalf of Metodo.  The only reason Amaral failed in his attempt to sue Correia was because he was convicted at trial.

As for the subject of this thread the SY investigation is being wrapped up right now so any official search has long since ceased.  Time for the McCanns to do what they should have done ten years ago instead of scuttling back to Blighty and that is get off their feckin tosser backsides and go help Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum search.

It's a very unusual case John
SY get a lot of criticism on here and on other forums
Totally unfair imo
They have obviously found information that the pj didn't properly investigate
That's why they are there
What, pray tell, is this obviously found information?
What's up, old man?

None of this 'improperly investigated information' seems to have led anywhere, so perhaps it didn't need investigating in the first place.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
