The investigation never had a chance once the British plod got involved imo. The tapas 9 should have all been brought back for a reconstruction, arrested if necessary.

all your opinion...my opinion is that a reconstruction was far too late...secondly the pj cannot simply arrest someone because they feel like it and they had no grounds to arrest the tapas...imo. At least now we have a proper investigation in place...imo

Absolute evidence is the complete misunderstanding of the evidence by amaral...imo

John Buck and other Brits interfered in the case from the beginning. Kate had her chance to clear up any misunderstandings but she refused. When suspects don't cooperate then they cannot get cleared in unsolved cases as the highest court in Portugal recently proved.

"British diplomatic staff were under direct instruction to support the McCanns far beyond the usual and to put pressure on the Portuguese authorities over the case. I have direct information that more than one of those diplomatic staff found the McCanns less than convincing and their stories inconsistent. Embassy staff were perturbed to be ordered that British authorities were to be present at every contact between the McCanns and Portuguese police." https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/04/the-strange-case-of-gordon-brown-and-the-mccanns/
Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Who do you think instigated this involvement?  Wasn't there a claim that Gerry McCanns own brother had connections with Gordon Brown through the Labour Party?

as for being cleared......Barry George has not been cleared despite two trials...The idea taht Kate would ahve been cleared is total fallacy..imo

you then go on to quote craig Murray who was sacked in disgrace by the FO

The Portuguese Supreme Court certainly put the kibosh on the cleared claim.  @)(++(*

I wouldn't find it surprising that some staff may have been torn between wondering if this was a case of death at the hands of the family or friends, for whatever reason; third party involvement (including known or suspectedpaedophiles); or wondering if there was a new potential "slippery stair" situation to guard against.

In view of the only other previous known missing child investigation by members of the same investigation team... I have no problem at all imagining why having someone present from the FCO would have been deemed appropriate.

you tell me....angelo claimed..

The Portuguese Supreme Court certainly put the kibosh on the cleared claim.

I think a cite is in order

forthermore...the conclusion of the SC may well be in dipute as to its legality

"But material was also leaked to a Belgian newspaper confirming what I have said..."

Which journalist might that have been? lol

depends what those opinions are based on...some opinions are obviously worth more than others

It is possible these two based their opinion on evidence, in other words it might be better described as a finding or a holding rather than opinion.

As we don't know what the two opinions were based on we're unable to assess their worth in my opinion.

I think its raesoanable to assume Pinto would have an informed opinion re the case ...and of course we have the fact that amaral and his team completely misunderstood the value of the canine alerts and the dna evidence..
