Didn't YouCaring state that your project was incompatible with their own ideals or words to that affect.  Clearly you have been targeted and YouCaring are more interested in protecting their own reputation than they are interested in the fate of a single child who disappeared ten years ago.

Nail on the head although I'm not sure you intended that way,its but one child in a sea of many, perhaps they don't see how an armchair detective can be compatable with their site, all imo of course.

They are the owners and in the end they did have point,  there was some clause that could be applied and I just had to accept it.  There must have been pressure though.

Hard to see where your project fitted in.

They won't divulge what went on behind the scenes but I'm no armchair detective.  It was going to be hands on.

Last murder case I handled I rang the cops and I said to them, "I think I have found a grave site", and they replied "well you had better dig it up then".  I have never heard words like that before.  That was an incredible moment.
So I got a spade and dug it up.  Found bones, animal bones.

I put it down to mission - as in Mission Impossible.

IMO, it could have been the mccann team.

No it wasn't them as they had not deleted any of my posts off their official Facebook site.  (I was surprised actually but I have tidied it up now.)

It was either  Abscam members or the HiDeHo crew. that has been where the major push back came from.

I don't take sides, I'm looking for the truth of what happened.  I think the forum comes out on the winning side with John's backing.  He has his theories and I have mine and we are not that far apart.

I would think no other funding site will accept you for similar reasons...are you not able to work to raise funds

I don't know about that there are some where people made pledges but the entire target has to be achieved or you get nothing.   To prepare myself with an extensive list of things to check out could in itself  be another year's work.  Things don't just spring to mind.  Physical things that need checking aren't well known.

I could get a job but I am really focused on this task actually.

We were taught at school "if it doesn't succeed first time, try, try and try again".  (But if only that was true for spelling and typing!)

That was done through GoFundMe, which is not available to NZ citizens.

Thanks, Misty.

Anything like that in New Zealand?
