Most of Portugal, from what I have seen.  They are also entitled to their opinion.

That is their opinion but if they think amaral proved Maddie died in the apartment  they are wrong
Amaral did not prove Maddie, died in the, apartment... He thinks, he did but he is wrong.... That is, fact... Not opinion

Offline Mr Gray

There is no proof she left the apartment alive either according to various SY officers.

Correct... There is no proof either way... That does not make amaral right

Offline ShiningInLuz

OK - so what was the proof presented by Amaral that convinced them Madeleine died in the apartment?  Is it your opinion that proof about any given thing is entirely subjective?
Who cares?  Debating beliefs and opinions is a waste of time.

It is the case that most of Portugal is of the opinion that Madeleine died in 5A on 3 May 2007.

Consequently, rubbish about what Amaral proved or did not prove is entirely beside the point.
What's up, old man?

You really don't understand the point in question.... It relates to whether amaral proved death as he claims...doesn't matter about opinions...
If amaral THINKS he has proved death then that's quite important as it shows he does not understand the evidence... Which is very important...

I understand the point in question very well.

It does NOT relate to what he proved or did not prove.

It is about who believes what.

You have one opinion on this.  Which is not influencing the beliefs or opinions of the Portuguese one iota.

It isnt...he believed the evidence proved maddie died in the apartment...he is on record saying that.....the evidence does not prove that  he is wrong......fact not opinion...

00.48 - During the following 50 minutes, I will prove that the child was not abducted, and that she died in the holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

Hours and hours = cobblers.

What is a waste of time?  Separating the wheat from the chaff?

That is most dismissive of you.  If Amaral misled the entire nation of Portugal by  convincing them that he had proof that Madeleine died in the apartment when clearly he did not, then I would say that’s quite a serious matter and not beside the point at all.  It is neither a belief, nor an opinion that Amaral did not prove Madeleine died in the apartment, it’s a fact supported by the police report when the case was archived.
