She told the police how she had put a pillow over his face so that he would stay with her forever and also told the police all about her own crimes. Her WS all have the ring of truth to me and seem to be a young woman getting a lot off her chest. She could have made up much more damaging claims if she was really intent on framing him.

Julie revealed things that were embarrassing for her: she volunteered that information — she didn’t have to even mention it. She simply told the truth about everything — warts and all.

Which is how she was portrayed in the series. I'd never been able to fully 'read' Julie prior to the actor's depiction of her. Now I see why. Supporters, and for a long time I was one, have her as being a strong controlling woman who dominated Jeremy and had counsel helpless, in her presence, to do their job. From the little I know of her background, nothing could be further from the truth. The series has Stan Jones picking up on a rather timid and subservient girl needing to offload but unable to summon up the courage.

JM didn't come forward, it was supposedly her friend Liz Rimmington, who had sex with JB whilst he was in a relationship with JM, who supposedly contacted the police asking for DS Jones. 

What evidence exists showing LR or anyone contacted the police and it wasn't the other way round?  All JB's circle who gave evidence against him were to some degree involved with recreational drugs which may well have been used against them.

NOT supposedly... Actually!  Liz Rimington rang Witham asking for Stan Jones.  He wasn't in, but at home, and as soon as he heard from Witham he contacted Liz at the phone number she left with the duty sergeant.

Carol Ann Lee does state in the ‘Acknowledgements’ section of her book, ‘The Murders at White House Farm’ that Bamber ‘generously shared a large amount of documentation’ with her
