Oh I see, right, so it's all Mrs Fenn's fault that Maddie wasn't abducted.  *&^^&

Blame anyone but the Mc Parents, isn't it.

I thought it was her neices fault

Someone should have looked in on Maddie.

No one is blaming Mrs Fenn... I don't think she heard Maddie crying for over an hour.
I've said what I would do in the circumstances... And if I hadn't intervened in those circumstances I would put some blame on myself

She was concerned enough that she telephoned her friend for advice as to what she should do, intervene or not.
De troothe has the annoying habit of coming to the surface just when you least expect it!!

Je ne regrette rien!!

I'd prefer to hear Mrs Fenns own account rather than the non verbatim translation by the unnoficial police interpreter

If I heard a child crying for over an hour I would certainly investigate... By going to the apartment.

But you're not PF.  By all accounts PF was an elderly widow in her 80's with arthritis who had downsized from her previous abode in nearby Lagos for an easy life at Waterside Gardens.  Is it really reasonable to expect such an individual to venture out during the hours of darkness/low season when no one was around to investigate?

Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

At the time she heard the crying she knew nothing about the family. They hadn't disturbed her before that because they were out most of the time. All she knew of them was having seen them walking around the resort.

Her friend Edna Glyn's reaction shows, perhaps, the attitude of local residents to the holidaymakers. She 'wasn't surprised' when told that a child had been crying for over half an hour. Perhaps it wasn't unusual in a resort where adults were given free booze with their dinners that they were slow to respond to a crying child.

Mrs Fenn didn't say that she knew the children were home alone on 1st.

At the time of the crying she may not have known whether or not the children were home alone but come 11.45 pm she may have deduced they were as the crying ceased upon her hearing the patio doors slide open although she did not actually see the McCanns.

No it isn't... That's, why I said I didn't blame her... I said what I would do... I'm quite pro-active in those sort of situations

What reason(s) do you have to believe Mrs Fenn's wit stat is inaccurate?

It seems the niece visited on the Sunday and the Thursday not the Tuesday when PF's wit stat states MM was crying.

I think it could be inaccurate... I don't think we can safely say any of the statements, are accurate.  Kate has, already said there's, weren't and they made new ones

Mrs Fenn should have reported the matter to reception so that appropriate action could be taken.  The ironic thing is that had she done so then things might have turned out so differently.

I agree imo that would be the most sensible course of action but we don't know what thoughts went through her mind during the incident.  It seems from her wit stat she was concerned that it might have been connected to burglary/attempted burglary given she was the victim of such a week prior to the McCanns arrival.
