Holly is to be congratulated for her efforts in keeping discussion points going at a time when there is absolutely nothing coming out from the current investigation into Madeleine's case.

In many cases though, I don't think there should be quite so much credibility given to notions which have been prevalent on the internet for some time and may or may never have been worth bothering about in the first instance.

I think the best chance of solving Madeleine's case using non professional input might have been for the professionals to pay more attention to prevalent local conditions and to give more credibility to avenues suggested which were not in line with police thinking.

For example ... Jane Tanner's sighting was not considered credible and until Mr Smith had his revelation moment many months after the event while watching the news, neither was his.

I wonder what other information given by non professionals might have been relevant and if acted on at the time might have changed the course of the investigation and solved what happened to Madeleine.

I assume your criticisms are aimed at the PJ? According to the PJ files there was a lot of evidence in the possession of the UK police which didn't reach the PJ immediately. Perhaps the PJ would have performed better if they'd had all the evidence, not just that which they had collected themselves.

There's an interesting role-play on this in which one gets to be the SIO of this case.  Acting within the legal and logistical realities, just how well did the PJ do?
What's up, old man?

I think they did very well in terms of identifying and interviewing everyone who worked at the Ocean Club. It's down to their hard work that we know where every worker says they were on the evening of 3rd May. By contrast we know very little about the whereabouts of most of the holidaymakers that evening.

For the benefit of newer members. As a result of complaints the words 'b e u k', 'b e w k' and 'A m 0 r a l' have been added to the censor library. We previously had this issue and it was agreed then not to use such terms as some posters found them tasteless and not conducive to the spirit which we like to maintain here. TY

John says there had been complaints... We all saw complaints on the board.  He doesn't say anyone complained to him

John needs to add “bwek” to the list.

What is childish is continuing to goad and take the piss, when you have been asked politely not to do so, particularly when you’re a moderator.

Madeleine's disappearance happened on Portuguese soil and outwith the jurisdiction of UK police.

A cite is required for "a lot of evidence was in the possession of UK police which did not immediately reach the PJ".
Thank you
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

What's a bwek? Is it related to bweksit?

Has any DNA/forensics been obtained from the bed at the window in the children’s bedroom?
