And the moon is made of cheese. Smithman hid Madeleine IMO and he was near to the sea when seen at the time Madeleine was found to be missing. IMO every minute of the timeline is crucial after 21:45.

They've got to investigate Smithman to move this case forward.

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

Peter Mac demonstrated it was possible to raise the shutter, although not all the way.

"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Some believe Madeleine was dead before 8 o'clock,   it beggars belief then that Gerry was out playing tennis until 7, and they went to the Tapas as 8.30!!!

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility that a person can behave normally when the stakes are high enough.

When was it all supposed to have happened?  Gerry was in no rush to finish playing tennis and they were at the Tapas Bar by half past eight,  the first to arrive.

I for one do not believe that the McCann's could have found Madeleine dead in the short space of time after arriving home from Madeleine having her dinner to the McCann's going to the Tapas Bar,   in the middle of that time span Gerry went out to play tennis.  So if it had happened before he went to play tennis,  it didn't bother him at all.  If it happens after he played tennis,  then he would have had to clean up,  think about where to put Madeleine where no one can find her,  rush off to hide her and get back to walk down the steps of 5a in time to meet Jeremy and then chats to him in a normal manner.   All in the space of what?  twenty minutes at that?

Now you put it like that, it's actually quite compelling.

It is also impossible.

Why?

Imagine yourself in that scenario,  you go back to check on your children,  you find one dead.  What would be your first reaction?  To hurry and hide all evidence?  Run out with your child and find a place to hide her?   No.  The first reactions would be to cry, to nurse your dead child and mourn that child.  Then to inform your wife.

Now lets forget what would probably happen and imagine what a devious,  uncaring unloving father would do.  On finding his dead child,  he would clean up any blood take the child and run off with her.  To where?  that would take planning and time wasn't on his side.   To run off somewhere and hide a child so no one can find her,  is remarkable,  then to arrive back, unbothered,  not even out of breath to chat to Jeremy normally,  then go off and eat his dinner laughing and joking.   That is what is impossible.

Now imagine you didn't find your child dead but had in fact killed it, then what?

So when would that have happened?  It would have had to have been after Gerry played tennis,   so an hour and a half to do everything it takes to dispose of a body and manage to get to the Tapas bar to laugh and eat with friends,  no sorry didn't happen. IMO
