we dont know  what SY are looking at now. If the raised shutter were a common thread then I think its common sense to see their significance. There are no doubt other burglars in portugal apart from the ones we know SY interviewed

It is in the public domain that the security of holiday lets pre 2007 was somewhat lax.  There were many burglaries; children of holidaymakers were abused in their beds by an intruder.

The genie is out of the bottle and just cannot be put back.

Actually the Ocean Club did pay lip service to security by giving one individual a title ... and that was it ... I don't think she performed any duties which could be classed as security work in the real world.
