In the blog, Bamber states that the DS Jones statement about a suicide note was only discovered about a year ago and has never been shown to the defence. However, the Daily Star article has the CT claiming;

"Representatives for Bamber say police statements prove the existence of a "suicide note" and claim its existence was overlooked by Essex Police officers.

The campaign claims the defence was only made aware of the existence of a suicide note when Metropolitan Interview recordings were released in 2011"

These tapes/statements MUST have been released otherwise how can the CT and Bamber quote from them? Interesting that only a partial quote is given - enough to spark interest - but nothing more.

Also Bamber claims that EP don't dispute the claim of the suicide note but the Daily Star states that they don't dispute (nor presumably confirm) that the 'statement' exists not the claim on the suicide note itself.

I can see "if's" are included, but I can't see anywhere where it's claimed "We have in our possession a suicide note". Nor did Kineally state that "Because of the discovery of a suicide note there is evidence that Sheila was responsible". It looks to me more like a manipulation of words.

I can't understand why just this exert was published - there is clearly more to it but if they have that much, they must have the rest. Even more bizarre, Bamber said that the statement is still withheld but the CT said it was released in 2011. Why don't they ever get their story straight?

If you add the phrase "With the benefit of a suicide note............" to what DS Jones stated to Metropolitan Police, it has a very different connotation.
