Notice how those who don’t believe a single solitary word published in the press still seem to believe it completely when it’s reported the Germans have said the well searches are nothing to do with them. Double standards, what?
I think any "double standards" are from those posters who pedal media stories as objective truth but only when it supports their particular agenda.
Of course much of what is detailed in the media is valid news reporting. But we also know that mistakes are sometimes repeated and the public view of an objective truth can be blurred. You also need to consider power, politics, vested interests, financial and other agendas. The media is a valuable tool as a source for information but it also has inherent dangers. Look what was reported on Saddam Hussein's alleged WMD, for example. You could blame some of the errors on lies fed to the press by politicians but the media itself can be partisan and a tool in itself to spread what can only be described as propaganda.
Any criminal case will not be solved by reviewing media stories even though many are valid and fairly reported, The key however is evidence. All of us here only have a limited access to the evidence. None of us can claim with much integrity to know for certain what happened to MM.
