This is what was thinking about. But it seems no one suspected him back in 2007, except for the British girlfriend who said that she openly asked him if he kidnapped Madeleine.

I saw that photo but it's not dated so I don't know if that's actually Romano S. or someone she met later.  I just wondered if he fitted Tannerman's description.
