I totally disagree and see it as a weak attempt to undermine Wolters credibility by those who simply refuse to believe that an abduction could have taken place.
Wolters has been investigating CB for several years and SY will have been aware of their conviction that MM is dead for some time. I'm sure that SY would have kept the McCanns updated and that the announcement came as no shock.
Amaral had already leaked the info that the Germans were investigating a German paedophile and believed him to be the perp.

As I understand the letters were som0ly to explain why the Germans could not disclose their evidence. These it seems were sent via SY.

I see Wolters as professional and competent and have seen no evidence to contradict this What I do see is a campaign by sceptics to discredit him which we have seen before directed at anyone who supports the mccanns

The death of Madeleine by stranger abduction has always been a possibility.  The McCanns knew this from day one, as did I.  I just didn't want it to be so and nor do The McCanns.

There is nothing weird about this and neither does it mean that I am emotionally involved.  It isn't my child that we are talking about.  But if Sceptics want to read something peculiar into my approach then they can please themselves.

I have no real idea about what Wolters is working on or if Brueckner is involved but after thirteen years a bit more patience will have to suffice.

Have these sceptics not realised that if Maddie died in an accident that they covered up then whatever Wolters said would not affect them.
It’s a bit of a conundrum for the sceptics isn’t it?  There can be no parental distress at Wolters’ actions as far as they’re concerned yet sceptics appear to be insisting that there is.  Bizarre!

I see the anti christ Amaral gets the blame for a letter which may or may not have been delivered, for some one who was we are repeatably told was sacked some 13+ years ago he doesn't half have influence, even over the Germans, yeah  right.

All the patience in the world won't reveal any evidence of CB's involvement imo.

Well what sort of thread would it be if Amaral wasn't shoe-horned in at every possible opportunity?  8(>((

What is interesting to me is that those who have supported the McCanns have spent years castigating sceptics for suggesting that Madeleine might be dead. Insisting (like her parents) that there was no evidence that she was dead.
Saying that Operation Grange were searching for her (someone even suggested they knew where she was and had her under surveillance).

Then a German prosecutor says she was murdered and not a word of protest is heard. Even the  fact that he did so (imo) without preparing Madeleine's parents is accepted. Suddenly their feelings are of no importance. There are a few suggestions that the Germans might be wrong and the child might still be alive, but not many.

It's like the supporters knew deep down that the child died, and that they thought the parents knew too, despite years of denial imo.

The Germans have the evidence imo. Evidence which sadly can prove death but not strong enough to 100% prove CBs involvement

Not sure what you base your opinion on. I think you have misunderstood. Only one poster here imo thinks Maddie is still alive... I think all hope she ls still alive but accept its most likely she isn't. I think even her parents have accepted its most likely she is no longer alive and have done for some time

I think Amaral has done that very effectively and all by himself.  Unfortunately he told yet more fibs in another attempt to mislead.

I have to agree. It shows a total disregard for the parents suffering and is extremely unprofessional by British standards.

I know from experience that the UK police do everything they can to make sure that family members are fully informed before anything gets into the public domain. It's very difficult, especially with the existence of social media.

What is so wrong with hoping that Madeleine is still alive?  It's The Sceptics who have always wanted Madeleine dead and actively so.  Thirteen Years of it.  A child given up on.  I think that is awful.

I'm sure the McCanns were well aware that the Germans had CB as their prime suspect well before any announcement
