Are there no houses overlooking the path?

None that could see a moped parked at the v point. Also would be looking onto the opposite side of the woodland strip. For example GD would be able to see the murder scene from his house, but from the wrong side of the wall to where the moped was claimed to have been parked. I used to live local to the area.

God knows. They saw nothing and felt they never had anything useful to contribute so why involve themselves with the police who they already had run ins with and needlessly and get wrapped up in a murder investigation? They weren't even exact on what time they rode the path, and I'm not sure the time of death was released or public in the time they didn't come forward. Why come forward at all if they were involved? Look where it's got them and what's happening with their names even 18 years later. I would like to hear an explanation from them too but there is nothing to be gained for any of these people to speak out, especially if they all believe the correct man is in jail.

Also, Sandra Lean didn't mention the witness seeing the moped at the v at the time of death in her section on the SCCRC submission addressing the Moped Boys, yet included other, less damning circumstantial "evidence." Why do you think that is?

Right - who is it that claims to have seen the moped at the V in the wall?

There's no danger of seeing that from a local house without the aid of a telescope/binoculars, so it can only have been someone walking the path - who was that?

If the moped was propped up against the wall at the V, that suggests the moped owners were on the other side of the wall in the woods where the murder took place - if they were in the woods at that time, they most likely would have seen or heard something, or they were actually involved.

There may be nothing to be gained now but there certainly may have been then. One of the boys was Jodi’s cousin...how can you think about saving your own skin when a family member has been murdered.

Further they eventually came forward so why not sooner rather than later?

GD had an appointment at the job centre on the afternoon Jodi was killed and phoned JF to pick him up on the bike after at 4.20. Therefore there is no way that they could have believed that they were at the v at the same time.

It doesn’t appear so. It seems everyone he threatened with a knife decided not to go to the police.
