Okay, thanks (never saw your post, btw, as I don’t have the time to trawl through all the replies). Just a quick thought regarding the female DNA found on Jodi: surely this is dna that was innocently transferred from a family member? I highly doubt Judith, Janine, Alice W or Yvonne W did it. And, I can’t see [Name removed]’s or [Name removed]’s girlfriend doing it, either (unless, of course, they were assisted by these two lads — lads who were known to police and had a history of violence to both men and women). I highly doubt Kimberly Thomson was involved either. Definitely think it was male, 16 years of age and upwards. I wouldn’t rule Luke out completely, but, from what I’ve read of the case so far and from what I’ve read of Sandra’s book (I’m currently at the ‘Boys on the Moped’ chapter), I think it was a lone perpetrator who had a lot of strength, though I certainly wouldn’t rule out someone with an accomplice. Such a complex case with still so many unanswered questions.
Btw, how tall was Luke back in 2003? Was he a big lad for his age? It’s difficult to tell from the online photos of him at the time.
Luke was about average height for his age, about 5-5 I think. Mark Kane was 6-3 so anyone who saw him would notice his height and would be very unlikely to confuse him with Luke for that reason. Interesting point about the female DNA. I don't think the DNA of any females related or known to Jodi was ever tested and compared to the samples, because they were obsessed with Mitchell from day 1. The strength aspect may not actually be significant if the attacker had a large knife.
KImberley T is definitely nothing to do with it and Mitchell didn't kill Jodi because of Kimberley T as claimed by the Police. What a pathetic motive to come up with, that kids of 14/15 would kill someone over a flirty connection with another person. Utter rubbish.
The 2 people who were on that moped were
never identified as JF and GD. They went to the Police and said they were on it an hour before it was seen at the V on the path. They lied about the time they were up there but got found out because of the sighting at the tool hire shop at closing time which was 5pm. They then got rid of the moped before the Police could even examine it. They then said in Court they couldn't remember what they were doing.
