You all have just sussed the way for every criminal to avoid Justice.  Don't say anything.

How is that working for the criminal fraternity?

Time should have been of the essence, which it wasn't to The PJ.

I am more interested in Amaral's attempts  to blatantly misrepresent Brueckner.

I find Amaral's blatant interference in the German case absolutely riveting.  It is among the most bizarre disruptions I have ever heard of.
Oh to have been a fly on the wall when the video which categorically revealed him as an unmitigated liar was released!
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Amaral interfered with the course of justice and should be charged with such.

Something else that would need to be proved. Opinion is not enough.

A call was made to that phone, which was answered and for half an hour.  Not quite the same thing.

Perhaps a call was made to that phone number, but as the BKA’s own website points out they are not 100% certain that phone number belonged to Brueckner. This what they say about it

"In addition, he almost certainly used the Portuguese mobile phone number + 351 912 730 680 in the time period in question"

Simple answer.  Ask him.

What percentage certain is “almost” - more than 60-80%?

Ask the Germans. They have the evidence - allegedly

Which imo is why its where its at just 3 months shy of 2 yrs  of being the prime suspect.

Three years and two months is an irrelevance in the time scale of Madeleine's case which has been on the go for fifteen years.

There are other charges pending against Brueckner.  Among which >

Brueckner was a suspect in a sex crime in an Algarve playground as recently as 2017.

He was held on suspicion of exposing himself to children. Police discovered Brueckner was wanted in Germany so did not prosecute him for the alleged crime, but they reopened the case last year.

I think that is probably a slam dunk one as he was arrested by an off duty officer who I think had to stand between him and some irate parents.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Simple answer.  Ask him.

But this is the paradox of the phone call evidence. If the call was from a person also involved in the abduction that person is not going to the police to incriminate himself is he and if it was from just a casual friend he can say he was sitting at the seafront chatting innocently to his friend for half an hour.
If the call did happen, CB knows who made it, and could deny its existence if it was a person involved calling as he knows that person would not be likely to come forward so he could just say it was an old friend he had at the time, can’t remember his name.
Without someone coming forward saying they made the call the phone evidence is not much use IMO.

Something else that would need to be proved. Opinion is not enough.

Nothing at all to do with "opinion".

The internet is awash with proof all fronted by Amaral in person and in glorious technicolour spouting off to whichever TV programme he was being interviewed on at the time.
All while proudly holding up his photoshopped altered image of Brueckner and the painted van.

He lied - he has been caught out lying and has provided the proof of it.
