But this is the paradox of the phone call evidence. If the call was from a person also involved in the abduction that person is not going to the police to incriminate himself is he and if it was from just a casual friend he can say he was sitting at the seafront chatting innocently to his friend for half an hour.
If the call did happen, CB knows who made it, and could deny its existence if it was a person involved calling as he knows that person would not be likely to come forward so he could just say it was an old friend he had at the time, can’t remember his name.
Without someone coming forward saying they made the call the phone evidence is not much use IMO.

Haven't they already found this person on another Thread?

Simple answer.  Ask him.

With him in prison its not like they can't find him, but they seem very reticent in engaging with him don't they.

Nothing at all to do with "opinion".

The internet is awash with proof all fronted by Amaral in person and in glorious technicolour spouting off to whichever TV programme he was being interviewed on at the time.
All while proudly holding up his photoshopped altered image of Brueckner and the painted van.

He lied - he has been caught out lying and has provided the proof of it.

As far as I'm aware he didn't make these statements to investigating police or under oath in a court of law. but in some TV documentary  or other. He was giving his opinion as have many others.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.

Or maybe not -

Ah, yes.  She phoned him so can't supply him with an alibi for the rest of the evening.

Sure, but it's not something he could be prosecuted for.

The disappointment is palpable.

The disappointment is palpable.

I did find the cartoons on Brueckner's van quite amusing.

His opinion presented as it was from December 2021 onwards could be construed as perverting the course of justice whether or not Brueckner ever sees the inside of a court.  At the very least Amaral interfered with an active police investigation only on this occasion his his lies soon became apparent.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Don't know about that.
