I don't think anyone here is guilty of No,2,,, We all agree on No,1,,,, With regards to No.3 your choice of language is perhaps sloppy, imo. No-one currently posting here has "blamed the parents", instead they have quite rightly examined the possibility of parental involvement in the child's "disappearance". Any such investigation should start by ruling out parents or those known to the victim as this is who are often (not always) responsible, It is not "repulsive" to examine different scenarios and possibilities.
You are quite wrong, perhaps because you don’t spend enough time on this forum and perhaps you didn’t even read the post I was responding to?  If that wasn’t repulsion and blame being shown at the parents for “allowing” their child to be abducted rather than at the person who (allegedly) abducted her then what was it in your view?

Christian Brückner was, on Thursday, constituted defendant in the case by the District of Faro of the Public Ministry (MP).

“The defendant was constituted by the German authorities in execution of a request for international judicial cooperation issued by the Public Ministry of Portugal”, can be read in the note published by the MP.

i hope that makes it clear for everyone.

What's not so clear is what effect being an arguido in Portugal will have on any extradition proceedings from Italy, the country where he was last free and extradited from to Germany.
The following link explains more about the status of arguido in Portugal. Its imposition could have an adverse effect on an application by Germany to Italy for Brueckner's extradition in Madeleine's case if both countries have criminal proceedings for the same crime.
https://gddc.ministeriopublico.pt/pagina/notes-portuguese-legal-terms
Regarding the other possible charges he's facing in Germany for rape & CSA in Portugal, he was never made an arguido in any of those cases and, due to Statute of Limitations, Portugal cannot contest jurisdiction.

Thanks Misty;  it is a legal minefield and I think it gives an illustration of what has been going on behind the scenes probably contributing to the delays we have witnessed in Madeleine's case.

I believe there really is a powerful lobby out there determined that no-one is ever going to find out what they know and their involvement in what happened to Madeleine.  I hope I am proved wrong.

Indicative though is the fact that the Germans are confident of bringing other cases re crime committed in Portugal with Brueckner as defendant to trial this summer but Madeleine's only at a later date.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Very rare do I answer you but hey ho the suns out .
Come on Brietta a possible murder being down the list, it should be the priority and if political shenanigans are at play they should be dealt with, the alleged rape and CSA can wait, CB isn't going any where, unless of course there really is nothing on CB in regards Madeleine. Wolters hasn't refuted the possible alibis like he has done previously .

This from January.

Authorities in Germany have dismissed claims that prime suspect Christian Brueckner has an alibi that will clear him of any involvement in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann

It seems he has 4 now so if the first ones debunked he's got three more.
I've said for two years Wolters has cecked all his associates to show he doesn't have one.. And on that basis he doesnt

I wonder why Italy seems to be featuring? I would have thought any need to consult Italy ended with his rape conviction.

More importantly for Wolters is no one can put him in Luz at circa 9-15 to 10pm, the alleged time of an alleged abduction. Circumstantial is hearsay much like dog alerts that need to be backed up with physical evidence .

If he can't account for his movements at that time it's part if the circumstancial evidence that on it's own means nothing but it's the sum of the evidence which counts.

Having said that this is part of why I'm convinced Wolters has a lot more

You think the Germans found all his associates but maybe there were some they missed.

I wonder if the Portuguese have requested the evidence gathered in Germany.

Yes, I wonder why the priority has changed  and it is now the intent to process the less serious cases first.
Perhaps it was always the case, but suggests to me that all has not gone smoothly, which may or may not be related to this alibi claim. No doubt we shall find out in time

I wonder if the Portuguese have requested the evidence gathered in Germany.
It's unlikely as HCW was unaware of this legal development. They are not talking to each other, clearly.
Ergo, the 'evidence' HCW has obtained has had little or no bearing on the decision.
I actually think this is partially political, given that the EU have been extremely critical of Portugal's somewhat arcane judicial system and Portugal have applied for an additional 45 billion euro of EU funding available, on top of the many billions they've been awarded as grants this century alone.
Nobody on this obscure forum can tell me that the PJ made this decision unilaterally. Not nobody no sir.
There's a political hand in this post a review process with the judiciary and the government.
Could be a win win, but also could be a fool's errand.

If he could he would be charged by now, no question.
The irony here is that, hopefully, the PJ will get to ask him first because HCW was wracked with uncertainty and didn't want to reveal his hand in some extraordinary game of brinksmanship. It failed.

No doubt they would come up against the same dead end. Let us be in no doubt, the BKA would have thrown inordinate resources at establishing CB's whereabouts with the data they had and the information gathered since. They're clearly no further forward despite the best efforts of some of the globe's finest investigative skills at their disposal.
Therefore, despite Davie's assertion that this in and of itself is circumstantial evidence, it's fundamental that they do place him at the scene, as being unable to do this carries much more weight than the residual element of no alibi being lodged.

No, I don't.

When CB was extradited from Italy he can only be tried for crimes listed on the warrant... Or crimes committed after.
As this crime was before the extradition they have to get permission from the Italians.  It's to stop countries extraditing for one crime and then charging for others
