The Independent goes on to say ‘This move by Portuguese authorities could mean that Brueckner, who is in prison in Germany, may be transferred to the Algarve for formal questioning.’

To me this suggests that he hasn’t been formally questioned

Seems it was all legal and above board and has obviously been brewing for some time.  We know that acceding to International Letters of Request doesn't happen overnight.

I asked a question a few days ago which was soundly ignored by all sceptics on here and I predict will be again.  If you can only be made an arguido on the basis of “strong indications of the practice of a crime” then how is it possible CB has been made an arguido in the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann when (according to ALL sceptic that I know of) there is no evidence to support the abduction theory?

Despite everyone's remonstrations to the contrary, I'll wager that the threshold for being made arguido / suspect is no more onerous to prove than just about anywhere else. Let's get it right, all they did in 2007 was to drag their legal practice out of the 20th century. They at least decided that arresting anyone was deemed a tad harsh, probably under some EU direction.

What exactly are you questioning?  Are you doubting that the Portuguese have made Brueckner a suspect?  Are you doubting that Brueckner has been questioned and maintained his silence as is his right.

Just because you do not like the news being reported doesn't mean it isn't happening as described in MSM.
