If I was Brueckner I'd tell the police through my lawyer that I wished to make a statement.
They'd take me to an interview room, I'd ask for tea, fags & biscuits, then after consuming that I'd sit there remaining silent for an hour.
The next day after that unsuccessfull interview I'd repeat the process & the next day, & the next until I'd had my fill of free fags, tea & biscuits.
