So Brueckner could have been lying when he allegedly said he knew all about what happened to Maddie.
That's possible isn't it.

All bravado by Brückner imo
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.

My thoughts too and, IF he did take Madeleine and IF the conversation did take place why no videos of Madeleine? Why was his friend shown the rape of an elderly woman? It appears it was part of Brueckner’s MO to film his crimes so why has he never shown anyone, as far as we are aware, a video of Madeleine?

Investigators in Germany and now in Portugal have become obsessed with solving this case.

My own view is that Brückner has become yet another scapegoat in the Madeleine McCann case. How many other incarcerated, dead or dying men have also attracted the status of arguido only for it to be later abandoned?

Absolutely agree. The next few months will be interesting.

Certainly be interesting to see what, if any, the next Portuguese move is and whether Grange closes as stated or is given another extension of funding.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

Is Bruckner dying then?  Let's hope!

As the fifteenth anniversary of Madeleine's abduction approaches on the 3rd May, it is a very sad indictment on law enforcement in Portugal that the perpetrator of this heinous crime is still unknown.

It is also incredible that nearly 15 years on and with so much worldwide publicity in the case, that the identity of Smithman is also unknown.

Apologies, forgot the word incarcerated.

As you say, you have no idea whether or not CB either made a video or showed it to anyone so a moot point.  There is a theory being touted that he wrote about his crime(s) and it is these writings that were uncovered under his dead dog which may point very much to his involvement in her abduction/rape/murder.   Time will tell...

Why do you think the authorities need to make anyone a scapegoat for this crime, and if they were determined to nail Bruckner why not falsify evidence against him and press charges, if they are so determined to pin the crime on him?

With so much falsification in the Leonor / Joao Cipriano case and the Michael Cook case, I must admit, I wondered the same.

Only wondered, no proof, but it would be good for the perps side to have a fall guy.   Then with Madeleine "accounted for" they can carry on as before.   No -one will be looking for Madeleine and as far as PT is concerned the other missing children will just be forgotten as of no importance.

Seems to me that whilst the majority of Police Officers are good upright hardworking citizens, there is a sizable minority who are bad eggs.   Incidentally, they all seem to be from the same ancient fraternity.   Are they paid up members, or is it simply an ancient Brotherhood?

With so many bad eggs having been raised to higher status within the PJ. it makes me wonder just who is promoting them?   Someone from the same fraternity?

What a disgusting thing to say.

What has Brueckner ever done to you to warrant such hate?

An old saying comes to mind Sadie. All the one sows pigs. In fact I don't even see it on Google so that must be a first.

Rape and child molesting come to mind.
