Amaral made the dreadful mistake in thinking that no one would notice his obvious lies about the dreadlocks and the cartoons.

What does that mean in Portugal?

Portugal lost the plot right from the beginning and not just once.

Brueckner will not be extradited to Portugal.  They couldn't even deal with The Rape Case.

Brueckner is a German Citizen.  Germany is the best place for him.

Unfortunately I can also foresee a situation in which Portugal apply to/send an EAW to Italy to surrender CB to them for prosecution in Madeleine's case. At the same time, Germany also have to request Italy's permission under the Speciality clause of the earlier, executed EAW to deal with all the unlisted crimes which preceded its issue. This may end up as a dispute to be sorted by ECJ because it should never be overlooked that the prisoner has rights to a fair trial.
